Yeah. Nate Silver is gone from 538. Disney has decided that they no longer need him, among others, and gave him das boot. They're keeping 538 though.

Honestly, this has been needed since 2018. Silver is really really bad at his job and nobody wanted to admit that. He's been off in a number of elections and yet people still take his models as gospel. Remember, Dems were set to lose Congress in 2022 and yet....*gestures at everything*

Ironbite-guess he didn't predict this very well.

To be fair, that prediction for 2022 might have been directly responsible for decent people realizing they need to get out and vote. In fact, that sort of thing probably happens a lot. Humans are heisenbergian; observing them changes the results you get.

He was spot on in 2012, but then populism came along and killed his precious model, and he hasn't been on the ball since.
