Recently revealed trailer for Transformers Galactic Trials.

From the trailer it looks like there are racing and shooting segments. Its unclear whether the 2 modes are interconnected seamlessly or separated in a selection within a menu.

Its pleasant to see the push for more ladybots in the franchise, but really weird that we see relatively obscure characters like Flamewar and Nightbird before Starscream.

I'm guessing those two were chosen in order to match up with Elita One and Arcee. And looking at the full roster, there aren't any flying characters at all, it seems.

Nighbird was in a movie recently at least.

Is it just me or did they not mention the developer in the trailer? I might have missed it but I had to do a Google search. It's Outright Games, makers of Earthspark - Expedition and a bunch of other licensed stuff.

I've become a Tablet/Phone gamer and don't own any console beyond Xbox One. So far, this isn't making me want to run out and buy one either.

Tbh the gameplay in the trailer looks super sluggish. Makes me wish for a remaster of the War/Fall of Cybertron games.

There's a rumor flying around that the Cybertron games, Rise of the Dark Spark and Devastation got relisted on Steam, but I'm having difficulty determining if it actually got relisted or if people just stumbled upon a deprecated page and made assumptions.

I am not upset another Transformers is being published by Outright Games. They are not a 'Triple-A' publisher, I know they aren't, so I don't expect another War For Cybertron from them.

What they put out is neat little games, usually with licensed properties (TF, MLP, ST: Prodigy), with no monetization, not a huge time sink, and they're priced accordingly.

Really, only TF: Battlegrounds give me trouble and it's mainly the genre.

At least they're not Game Mill.

Yeah I was kinda shocked this is getting released on consoles and isn't a mobile game. The (lack of) animation on the robot mode portions is staggeringly stiff and unfinished. Looks pretty trash TBH.

Outright Games, the leading publisher of family-friendly interactive entertainment, in collaboration with Hasbro, a leading toy and game company, is excited to reveal a brand-new character reveal trailer for the upcoming video game, TRANSFORMERS: Galactic Trials. TRANSFORMERS: Galactic Trials finds players on a mission to recover the powerful Prime Relics from the evil Nemesis Prime in this fast-paced rogue-lite racing game, inspired by the iconic TRANSFORMERS franchise, and developed by 3DClouds.

The new trailer showcases all 11 playable characters including Autobots Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Elita-1, Wheeljack, and Arcee, along with Decepticons Megatron, Shockwave, Flamewar, Soundwave, Nightbird, and Nemesis Prime. Fans will begin the game playing as iconic characters Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Megatron, and will unlock additional characters as they progress. Each character comes equipped with two unique skills and a range of eight powerful weapons to customise each race. In the trailer, fans can get a first look of the power of Optimus Prime's gravitational axe throw, Bumblebee's plasma stings, Elita-1’s Missile Rain, and Wheeljack’s wrecking bomb.

TRANSFORMERS: Galactic Trials finds the Autobots and Decepticons on an important mission to recover the Prime Relics, which grants significant power to those who hold them and have been stolen by Nemesis Prime. Battling and racing their way through the single-player Galactic Trials game mode, players will uncover relics to enhance their speed, damage, and handling. To shift gears and test their driving skills against a friend, TRANSFORMERS fans can compete in the game’s Arcade Mode equipped with local multiplayer for up to two people.

“We’re pleased to be giving fans a brand-new look at TRANSFORMERS: Galactic Trials, and we can’t wait for them to experience the action-packed combat and high-speed races waiting for them in game,” said Stephanie Malham, Managing Director at Outright Games. “Working with Hasbro on a TRANSFORMERS rogue-lite racing game has been an incredible experience and we hope TRANSFORMERS fans of all ages enjoy this unique hybrid game.”

“It’s been an exciting year for TRANSFORMERS as we continue our 40th anniversary celebrations, and we can’t wait for the game’s official release and players’ reactions this October,” said Eugene Evans, SVP Digital Strategy and Licensing at Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro. “The game’s hybrid action racing and rogue-like combat offers something unique for new and longtime fans, which is a testament to our strong collaboration with the talented team at Outright Games and our mission to continue expanding Hasbro’s lineup of digital offerings through strategic licensing and internal development.”

Since its launch as a toy line in 1984, TRANSFORMERS has become a global phenomenon, expanding to further depict the epic battle between the Autobots and Decepticons across film, television, digital media, comic books, and more. In the 40 years since the TRANSFORMERS franchise first launched, the powerhouse IP has subsequently established itself as a household name and iconic entertainment brand. This cross-generation appeal has continued to develop with over 11 feature films, including the upcoming animated feature film, TRANSFORMERS: One, and several TRANSFORMERS video games.

TRANSFORMERS: Galactic Trials will be available to play on PlayStation 4®, PlayStation 5®, Nintendo Switch™, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam on 11th October 2024.

Interesting there's no Starscream, even though the devs are obviously going to be getting milage out of pallette swaps with that Nemesis Prime, you'd think the seekers would have been the FIRST character model they made.
