So: alberta's premier has been basically panned as the worst handling of the pandemic in canada. In function: he was republican. Struck down the restrictions entirely too quickly and then refused to do anything to protect his population when the virus surged upward again. He has replaced his...
Been seeing some reports that trump is looking to depose mitch the bitch. Loath as I am to consider anything trump could do as "good" I'm not above accepting jive from him in the name of progress.
Yeah, and of course it's starting to come out that they actually reduced the number of available polling stations due to cost, but quite frankly: having fewer places with more people passing through them DURING A PANDEMIC is just ******* stupid.
This whole, pointless, moronic, waste of time and...
The upshot is: O'toole will probably be replaced by the tories, and this is likely to be the last mandate with trudeau leading the liberals. But largely nothing has changed.
When I went to bed last night: they had called it for a liberal minority with tories as opposition.
So, let's just do a little math shall we? It cost 600+ million dollars, and exposed millions of people during a pandemic AND they managed to land a massive rallying point for quebec nationalism...
Alright, started watching the new series.
Do I like the whole "THEM! But as KIDS!" trope? Nope. But I am glad the franchise is strong enough to experiment with it's core identity.
That said: I am enjoying the hell out of it, and it really does seem that netflix knows how to make them a good...
Welp, it's election day in canada. When the proletariat gets its meagre say in the direction of our nation and our representatives finally get some exercise and stop butt polishing the hardest workers in parliament: the chairs.
And frankly: I'm going to be happy when tomorrow comes and all this...
I don't think it matters. It was "something" the republicans lost, and now they're in a position to attempt to actually, successfully, reverse that. So of course they're going to try it. All they have left are completely fabricated wedge issues and outrage.
I've come to the conclusion that I don't want to continue living my anxiety. I don't have a lot of say in actually treating it right now (the funds are simply not reliably there at the moment.) but at least I've acknowledged that it actually is a problem that I need to deal with.
It's not a...
Which is ironic cause the armed forces in general DO NOT WANT the idiots anymore. Modern militaries don't do the whole "cannonfodder" thing anymore. Soldiers that are educated are soldiers that thrive.
Which, really, is just an argument for a nice machine tyranny. I mean, if you've got to live in a tyranny: might as well choose the one that will be obvious, predictable and logic driven.
While it's perfectly alright to try to institute a rule like "don't be a dick"; ultimately unless the guidelines are clearly explained it ends up trotting on the grounds of tiranny because absolutely everyone has their own definition of "dick", and you deliberately introduce bias into enforcement.
