Articulation in toys (continued from the Picture thread)

I happily played with even the brick-iest of Transformers, but I was always especially fond of the ones that had more points of articulation than the others. Heck, I remember being super impressed that my Quake could aim his gun both up-and-down as well as side-to-side (kinda).

Post Pictures of your Transformers, Let's see 40 years worth of Transformers!

To be fair, gravity had only been invented in 1982 and wasn't fully implemented world-wide until the early 90's.

    THE KNOCK OFF TRANSFORMERS THREAD

I love that thing! It's almost perfectly "what if they released a Scramble City Dinobot Combiner in mid-to-late G1." I may have missed it in the video, but did he say where it came from?

Post Pictures of your Transformers, Let's see 40 years worth of Transformers!

The Decepticons clearly spent some formative years on the Yajuta home planet.

I poke fun, but that was a killer paint scheme for that mold. Always kind of wanted one.

No, having Titan Devestator in combined mode at all times and keeping the new, better individual 'bots in individual modes isn't a bad way to enjoy both.

Transformers: Age of the Primes toyline discussion 10/27 Update: First look at Megatronus the Fallen

Yeah, totally agree. I don't mind the idea of Optimus ascending to something greater than your average bot, but I think it cheapens his journey if he started there. That said, I've always kind of liked to keep the metaphysical aspects of Transformers to a minimum. I don't mind Unicron and...

Transformers: Age of the Primes toyline discussion 10/27 Update: First look at Megatronus the Fallen

Agreed. I don't mind these guys being a mish-mash of all the different iterations, but I like that they seem to be keeping close to the most iconic version of each.

Someone else made this, and I can't vouch for the accuracy of it, but here's a rough comparison based on Menasor's height: I think it's 100% new molds, but with a lot of the engineering being cribbed from the Titan version. Reusing what worked and improving it where possible while also...

    Studio Series discussion

I think I've talked myself out of it. I have the CW Titan and the undersized KO, so this one is a bit surplus to requirements, especially at the total dollar figure to complete him. He definitely looks like the individual robot modes will be a bit better than the CW ones, but I don't think I...

New "Wildocking" Animal Limb Combiners from TakaraTomy

From Lord Ginrai at TFW2005: So, smaller than I may have though if the main "Energy Master" bots are approximately deluxe sized (or slightly larger).

New "Wildocking" Animal Limb Combiners from TakaraTomy

Hard to tell from the pics, but I get the impression they kind of wrap around the existing forearms or shins to power up the limb instead of being a full-on arm or leg in themselves. On closer look, I wonder if the smaller bots will be more of a "split apart and rebuild" style transformation...

New "Wildocking" Animal Limb Combiners from TakaraTomy

I am super interested to see some more details on these. Love the fact that Megatron's limbs are dinos. I do wish there were an even eight animals so that Megatron and Optimus could each have their own full set.
