I'm sure it was a budget thing, just ran out of paint apps. Honestly, I'd have preferred the missiles on the sides of the trailer, but that would probably stick out too far for some track sets.
Of all the possible missing paint applications, this one is probably the easiest to do by hand after...
On one hand, I'd be shocked if we got an actual armored-up transforming Hot Wheels Ultra Magnus.
On the other hand, I'd also be shocked if they DIDN'T make a white-Prime inner robot repaint of the existing mold at some point.
I had the same thought, but I ended up double dipping (well triple dipping actually because I found a cheap Toxitron Grimmy at a toy shop) just to get them all to match.
Now, if I had unlimited genie wishes, I'd ask for Hasbro to keep going. Give us G1-ified versions of the Bay era Dinobots...
I always like the Razorcrest better. The Naboo fighter hot rod was cool, but doesn't make sense for the character. It'd be easier to get a good robot out of, too. There just isn't much mass in the starfighter to work with.
it's got to be better than the old Star Wars Boba Fett figure. That one was tantalizingly close to being good, but the robot mode proportions were just a little too far off.
Yeah, I don't think the bad numbers are the result of anything that TF: One did WRONG, just that a lot of families go to the movies only a couple of times a year now. I think it'll probably do great on streaming, but I don't know how strongly the powers-that-be think of that.
Honestly, if they...
I do feel like maybe it didn't hit at quite the right time. I wonder if an earlier theatrical release and then at-home streaming roundabout now would have helped push the toys for the Christmas buying season. Because, really, toy sales are going to be what Hasbro is interested in.
Should have been Sky Gary. Clearly it's a common Transformers name. They had to add "Sky" to it as a differentiator.
"So I was talking to Gary the other day..."
"Wait, Big Gary or Sky Gary?"
"Sky Gary. So anyway, I says to Gary, I says...."
