Hopefully if it's a new mold, it can capture the slightly more dynamic proportions of the animation (the Titans Return mold was a bit better for this, even if much of the rest of it was iffy). The Seige mold looks a lot better in those colours, but the back of the shuttle mode looks just awful...
I consider the Seige figure to be a fun figure, but somewhat flawed from the perspective of an Astrotrain fan. The mold is too short, the alt modes are a little compromised in a way that a new mold could probably do way better, & the deco is just DRAB. I expect his purple to be a bit brighter...
Yeah, the wolfpack torso shows up on pick a brick sometimes, but sells out immediately. I think there's a new wolfpack castle set coming from Ideas soon too, so they're coming back a bit?
Considering we ended up getting Optimus Upgrade Power Armors by the dozen ANYWAY, I'm glad we got a new character in Magnus. He's been a part of a lot of good stories over the years.
New Eternia feels like it's going off the rails a bit, doesn't it? We've gone from "Give Zodak some cool optional shoulder armour" to "make Robotto a killer terminator robot", "make Fisto have a non optional all metal arm and also he's not a ginger anymore for some reason", & "King Randor's bald...
I mean, I'd argue that once you get past his goofy design, and if he found some humility, Sky Lynx IS pretty heroic, powerful, and in the right colours...
Okay, here's something a bit more pulled back: What if Autobot City had transformed (partially or wholly) into Metroplex for the movie, leading to the Metroplex toy to be released in orange instead of the gray we ended up getting?
I mean, yeah, in the real world they couldn't, but I thought we were talking about *story implications* on plot and character changes, within the confines of the movie itself. There have been lots of wild & interesting suggestions in the thread already.
Yeah, I think the wild character designs & toy action features in the original MOTU line lead to a lot of fans having favourite characters that never got into the show much. That's how I ended up loving Stinkor & Snout Spout so much.
Wanna hear something fun? After tax & shipping, each of these guys are going to be around $175 CDN. That's $700 for just the main four characters :) I'll continue to hold out hope that Hasbro does a set in a couple of years.
With both combiner torso characters AND increasingly truck w/ trailer characters (Primes etc) moving into the Commander price point, that is a LOT of pressure for only one figure per year (maybe more like 9 months now?). It just makes sense to move to 2 a year if they ever want to do other...
Yeah, people complain that the large figures aren't in "true" scale, but I think don't always appreciate how much space they'd take up if they were ALL at that scale. Not everyone has an entire unused basement to display everything.
