All of this Sentinel Prime slander were just lies meant to attack an over-worked Prime who had to look after his senile grandpa!

And the one who said that to A3 was none other than Primal Prime.

Not to get into P&R territory too much...but new tariffs were announced. While Hasbro has diversified its manufacturing base over the past couple decades, they are now looking at a 54% tariff rate on products from China, and a whopping 49% (3% current rate, plus 46% "reciprocal rate" announced today) rate on products from Vietnam.
Most of "OUR" stuff comes from Vietnam, which became the "go to" alternative to China, especially as Trump ramped up his FIRST trade war.

It remains to be seen how this will impact Hasbro's product lines. Options include passing costs to consumers (ie, price increases) or cutting costs on the backend (less development, fewer employees, reduced marketing, etc)

Is there a connection between this (it's not like it's a huge surprise) and the reissues we've been seeing? Save some $ by going back to recent/reliable instead of developing something new?

The greater frequency/regularity of those did seem to start around the pandemic era with Earthrise, so it may have been spacing out production more and maximizing available tooling and packaging. It's likely continued because that has been helpful, and likely will keep being used to fill gaps.

But good lord, this is going to be a financially difficult at best next few years.

I am not happy about missing out due to the car and home repair costs and the car payment for the new one, but I am also so happy I got this stuff set up BEFORE today...

Not yet.
Like LastMaximal said, I think the reissues/package refresh is more reflective of a good business sense.

We'll probably not see THIS issue reflect on Transformers products until next year. I'm not overly familiar with international shipping, but it's possible Hasbro might have things settled for a few months out, so I don't foresee any abrupt price jumps on stuff already on the slate.

Should be fine, as long as the focus is kept on the effects of the tariffs and not the cause.

Because some things are just a fact of life, despite political origins. Like paying sales tax. We all pretty much have to do it, and talking about the effect on the pricing is fine.

Talking about how alien lizard people invaded the White House and declared war on foreign cheese and that made the price of flubber skyrocket, so now it's because of the Jabberwockies that our toys cost so much... maybe not so much.

Obviously exaggerated to avoid touching on any real life stuff as much as possible. No allegories, just whatever popped into my head as I was typing.

This is going to end mainline Transformers releases. A Deluxe is going to cost, what, $40, $45 over in the States? And consider the target audience (namely kids), buying action figures aren’t going to be a priority for parents when just getting basics like food in regularly will destroy the family bank balance.

I haven't been familiar with the comparisons of late, and I'm sure that IN Japan the US stuff is pricey for the same reason the inverse is typically the case, but wow, are we going to see Japanese mainline releases end up cheaper than US mainline releases

Or maybe the stock market as a whole will just liquefy and Hasbro will be forced to abandon physical production, making fans 3D print their own WAIT A MINUTE

I'd expect to see Deluxes hitting in the $30-$35 range assuming these stick, once Hasbro makes their price adjustments. It's certainly not going to help their profit margins though, so we'll probably see a cutback on the weirder stuff in the future. And if you're one of the less successful brands, I'd expect a lot of those to be shuttered - Transformers is actually one of their stronger brands, outside the WotC stuff.

Speaking of, the physical stuff for WotC is going to be hit too, given they probably print their books in China like 90% of the TTRPG gaming industry. Stephen Glicker over at Roll For Combat has talked about his experiances in working with publishers on both sides of the ocean before, and the US ones wer typically majorly backlogged and not very responsive to changes, while the Chinese ones were actually on time and very responsive, which is why he(and a lot of others) tend to work with them over the US ones, more than the price differences.
