Hmm. Really feels like $50-$100 too much, especially if Deathcobra doesn't end up getting unlocked. I know that's kind of the whole thing with Haslabs, that you don't get the whole economy-of-scale discount you would with more traditional releases, but I don't know if I'm in anymore or not.

The reveal video:

Four names misspelled, though one is to be expected due the use of "Hell" in the name, though both his name and that of Guyhawk were spelled correctly in the Hasbro Pulse email announcement, while Leozack is "Leozak" and Jallguar is "Jaruga" in both the video and the email.

$300's a bit steeper than I'd like but they're supposedly Voyager size components, and there's a lot I like about how this looks. I'm in!

('Killbison' and 'Deathcobra' are ok, but Hellbat has to be Ellbat? Must be a trademark concern rather than a "too violent" thing).

They say 5.5", which is kind of right between Deluxe and Voyager. I guess I can buy Voyager mass, though. They all are on the chonky side.

Maybe he's British so the "H" is silent? 'ellBat

Maybe if I can unload my CW version for more than $200 I can justify the $300 cost of this set.

So what's the excuse for "Leozak", "Jaruga", and "Gaihawk"? All of them are misspellings too, of "Leozack", "Jallguar", and "Guyhawk".

The Combiner Wars set went with "Fellbat".
The WoW fan in me appreciated that and wish they'd have kept that as his Western name.

I have no idea, but here are my best guesses.

"Leozak" was probably seen as a more "concise" spelling of "Leozack." Sounds the same, but it's one less letter and someone may have thought it looked tidier.
"Zack" is also a common variant of the name "Zach" and I can see someone at Hasbro not wanting Transformers to have human-looking names, so "...zak" is preferable to "...zack."

That also explains why they went with "Gaihawk" instead of "Guyhawk," with "Guy" a fairly common name.

"Jaruga," on the other hand, is a mystery. It doesn't do anything different than "Jallguar," like replace a human name or get rid of a word that might offend someone. It's just different for the sake of it.
Best guess is someone didn't like "Jallguar" and wanted a different name for the character's "official" Western release.

Hasbro used "Leozack" and "Guyhawk" previously, for the BotCon 2009 toy and the Combiner Wars toy, respectively.

Personally I like Jaruga better. I also like Gai- and -Zak better, pretty much for the same reasons that Hasbro might have renamed them, to make them sound less "human". Ellbat annoys me though, I would have prefered Fellbat. Ellbat just feels lazy.
