Leozak" was probably seen as a more "concise" spelling of "Leozack." Sounds the same, but it's one less letter and someone may have thought it looked tidier.
"Zack" is also a common variant of the name "Zach" and I can see someone at Hasbro not wanting Transformers to have human-looking names, so "...zak" is preferable to "...zack."
But the really important question remains.

Is he, or is he not, a Lego maniac?

Fellbat would've been fine. Or they could've gone into the Japanesey direction they went with the cassette reissues and used Herubatto. Or Herubat.

Maybe he'll be British in shows from now on.

Ellbat annoys me though, I would have prefered Fellbat. Ellbat just feels lazy.
I agree but I'll come around on "Ellbat" if they put him in a cartoon and give him a Cockney accent.

The fact that they spelled Hellbat's name correctly in the Hasbro Pulse email announcement makes me think that they really really tried to use his name for this release (after all, they bothered to keep "Killbison" as such instead of "Ironbison"), but just couldn't pass legal without removing the H.

Apparently there's a Batman figure with "Hellbat armor" or some such. So it's apparently a trademark conflict rather than fears about sensitive language.

(FWIW, I think Cockney Hellbat is a FAR better alternative than "Fellbat")

They had me until the fake thighs. It's beautiful, but not as impressive as I first thought.

I have only seen the one promo pic of the hip region in 'alt' mode, I'm not sure what it is supposed to be. A big cargo pod? Or does the dune buggy guy just drive around with part of a combiner 'just in case'? And combining might be even more difficult when you consider that three of the components are fast-flying fighter jets, two are land vehicles one of which does NOT look fast moving, and one of them travels UNDERGROUND...

I dunno, I feel like that's slightly less hard to picture than a space shuttle combining with a helicopter and three land vehicles (even ignoring scale). Combiners generally don't make much sense if you think about them too much.

Except for Abominis. All his components are to scale and equally at home in their native environment.

I'm optimistic that it will go through.
I think he will get backed. There is a want for him. Now, will we unlock tiers (are there any, I didn’t read, just backed)? That I’m not sure about.

Wonder if that 3K includes backers outside of the U.S.? I think the Japan market will be big for it.

Any pictures out there of Deathcobra actually replacing 'Ellbat as an arm, or just the shoulder cannon mode?

Does Deathcobra not have his Breast Animal? I know it wasn't actually seen in snake mode on the show, but he's still established to have one.
