Previously, on My Little Pony...
Rest in Peace, Cuppa Joe. You were only brewed this morning, but we will keep you in our hearts until at least the mid-afternoon.
Coffee: The proof that no matter who you are or where you're from, you can always find a Starbucks near you. Even in the depths of the sea. It is what unites us, as a people.
Get on in here and read this dinglehopper, it's time for...
So, how is it?
This is still really good! I'm kind of running out of ways to recommend this comic to you guys. I'm a bit of a broken record. Pick it up! Just do it!
Art wise, this is still the cream of the crop of Pony comics. It doesn't get much better than this.
Writing wise, this is a bit of a setup issue for the finale. This particular issue is more about getting pieces in place for the end. So, it's not AS on fire as the previous two issues were. But, we still get a pretty interesting reveal by the end of this issue. I'm not complaining, this is actually taking the time to set things up for what I'm hoping to be a grand finale.
So, this still gets the highest possible recommendation from me. If you buy ONE G5 miniseries this year, make it this one.

We start as we ended last issue: Somehow, we have a literal cliffhanger under water!
Izzy stop yelling. Yelling will just attract sea bears.
"All good pirates always have rope!" Yeah, but these pirates had to pawn their rope in order to afford a new microphone. It's not cheap keeping a pirate radio station going.
We now know what Izzy would look like if she made a cameo appearance in Kantai Collection/KanColle or Azur Lane. I approve of our ship-girl-ponies!
But, who's here to save the day but ol' Two-Eyed Gilbert! Leading the other Manes to Pipp and Izzy! The gang is now 5/6ths complete!
"I'm not crying! I just have, like, a piece of coral or something stuck in my eye!" D'aww...Pipp's touched that Zipp came down here worried about her lil' sister.
Fun fact to note: Apparently Earth Ponies CAN grow freshwater plants under the sea.
The pirate's treasure chest is crushed...but that only reveals the REAL treasure hidden inside! The real Shadow Pearl!
Meanwhile, Queen Calla Lily has been using a BUNCH of her magic powers to give her entire kingdom a makeover. I'm sure this will not in any way backfire on everyone.
The undersea castle does look really nice, now. They even have a Seapony Fluttershy Fountain in their garden. Do want. I guess Fluttershy making peace between the seaponies and Sand Dragons back in "Fluttershy Balances the Scales" really left a impression.
The Queen's been using the magic to reunite all the seven seas. But, everytime she uses her magic, it keeps causing worse and worse sea-quakes.
Meanwhile-meanwhile, Zipp and Anemone are taking time to visit the local market after the makeover. And then everything starts turning back into sand. Oh no, this has backfired on everyone...who could have POSSIBLY seen this coming, I ask you?
"Seventeen Minutes Later..." The Spongebob Narrator needs a side-gig, too, y'know! Also, do NOT let Izzy try to explain the backstory. Not when it's this complex!
Pipp does not appreciate the AI art of her. If anyone's gonna make AI art of her, it's gonna be her!
You know, Izzy's worry about alternate dimensions is actually pretty reasonable. They do have a magic theme park that can lead you to the baby dimension, after all.
There's ALWAYS time for a race! Especially when you're hurrying to get somewhere anyway.
More seaquakes around the world! Queens quiver! Pippsqueaks pummeled! Sparky shattered!
But, then we get our big reveal for the issue! Maris, one of the trenchpony pirates, is actually the chosen one! She's the Trench Queen! Yeah...this would have had more impact if we'd been spending more time with her. I don't think we really know her well enough for this to really have a impact. We don't even know who the other 5 Queens of the other 5 seas are, yet.
But, Maris looks really cool all glowy like that. She's lit up like a lanternfish! Which is probably the idea, given she lives in the darkest depths of the ocean. It's a nice looking full-page reveal. Especially with the other Trenchponies lit up alongside her, because she's empowered by the Pearl.
