Seriously, I think it's perspective, poor image quality and package obstruction combined. From what I can see, he's the same size, but being darker and slightly hidden is making him look smaller.
The card insert's also partially obscuring his legs.
Wonder if he's a front or a back. The front would have pincers but the back would have a stinger.

Be pretty funny if they did have a middle piece/extender mold and they only occasionally did them in odd-numbered multipacks. Like Scorponok would be a block with sculpted-on legs and full claws out to the sides, that you could use to create a long truck with scorpion claws.

I understand why, but it's a shame that a guy with "Skull" in his name doesn't get to be the head.
These aren't 100% what I had hoped, but I am starting to warm up to the mix-and-match alt modes, especially the animals. Looking forward to seeing the Dinobots.

His name IS SkullCRUNCHER. Which is clearly not referring to his head, but his donk.

I’m sad there isn’t much truck there, but at least we have confirmation Optimus Primal is the ass.
I’m also highly bemused by such a deep cut in Apelinq. Not just in him being here (he WAS featured in the last “major” film), but that they went and referenced the original Transmetal repaint for his sculpt instead of just being a repaint of the base Optimus Primal. Makes me wonder if we’ll see a Transmetal Rattrap and Transmetal Optimus Primal pack if the line goes long enough.

To be fair, that design is pictured right at the top of his Wiki article, easy to see for anyone looking up the character.
