I was talking to a friend about odd fun toys I would come across at places like Walgreens back in the 90s
And I told them about these cars that where transformable into another cars because all the car panels where on these ball joints so you could pop them off and flip them over to become a different car

Anyone out know what im describing?

I don't know, but it sounds really cool. If someone knows what they are, I may just have to check out Ebay.

My son has always been super into little toy cars. We bought a couple of knockoff versions of those flip-panel cars from the Dollar Tree probably 10ish years ago. They were surprisingly fun! They were very much dollar store ko quality, so the panels tended to be a bit finicky, but they would generally hold together in either configuration.

Something like Flip Racers or TransRacers?

Or the Aurora Imposters?

Neither sound quite like what you're describing, I'll admit.

I'll also give a nod to the Hot Wheels Attack Pack and Key Force lines.

And some kind of neat things I found while trying to google stuff:

These toy cars that combine to become a unicorn.
Also, this police car that transforms into a jet just has a cool color scheme.

The Flip Racers and TransRacers are both pretty much exactly what my son had.

These are probably all wrong as well, but I do think they're neat.

Hot Wheels Convertibles?

Hot Wheels Crack Ups?

Matchbox Connectables?

Hot Wheels Mechanix?

Modifiers?

Hot Wheels Shogun Racers?

I might need more to go on. Were these larger toy cars or more Hot Wheels sized? Anything else you remember about them? Are any of these even close? I'll admit, I might not be "visualizing" what you're describing correctly.

Oh! I had one of those. I forget which one. Don't Know what ever happened to it. But I used to think it was so cool. If I remember correctly, the hood broke off on mine so the front was always on the dented side. But it was a cool gimmick.
