I'm dealing with a lot of "why did I buy this?" regret from all the redecos/retools I got last year...having to pre-order so many things to be sure of ever getting them has disconnected the "thrill of the hunt" from the reinforcement of the actual acquisition, and it's dampening my enthusiasm a LOT. I have a big pile of exclusives (including the Speedia 500 stuff I found at Ross last year) that I just can't motivate myself to open and review, so I think I'm going to pull back hard on the online exclusives.

I won't cancel my existing pre-orders, although I had already been pulling back on stuff that was just redecos. Right now, my spreadsheet shows mostly Studio Series and Age of Primes toys, plus the Mandalorian (shipping Soon), Sonic, and Naruto Collaboratives.

Arrival today was: Legacy United Armada Wheeljack, he looks very nice, I do worry about him yellowing of the white plastic as parts of Jhiaxus has started turning yellow on my copy

Nice little score today. Random stop at a collectible shop yielded the TRU yellow-redeco Cybertron Mudflap, a mold I've never touched with the added appeal of the under-the-table Erector redeco. Not quite complete (missing the missile and cyberkey, crane hook broken), but otherwise functional; a little loose in spots and kind of grotty (but that cleaned up), but for the price I'm happy. He's a big chunky guy, and it's a Cybertron mold so I do not care one bit about lacking the instructions either. Right now he's hanging out on my desk with some small Lego Technic construction equipment.

Arrived yesterday:

Airraid is a good figure, my only complaint would be with the tailfins, I wish they were able to face the correct direction in robot mode because they just don't look right in my eyes when I see the back of his legs

Megatronus, he looks impressive but I hope that he gets a repaint to look more like his Dreamwave comic appearance as I think a bright orange replacing the yellow combined with a rich black would make him look more fearsome espeically when you add the flame effects he comes with! Also, I think this figure will likely get retooled into 86 Megatron as one of his accessories when fitted to the back of the robot mode, makes him feel like he just a pretool for Megatron, some changes here and there on top of a new head and you would get a pretty good looking Megatron, sure he will not be able to transform into a gun, due to the safety laws but to recreate the scene where Starscream uses him to gun down the Autobots, they could just swap the staff weapon for his G1 gun appearance, while having a different blade for the laser sword Megatron used against Prime, of course the arm cannon would need to look like the G1 verison, so there is potential there! Megatronus outside of Vector and Star Convoy, is the only Prime I'm getting for now as the others released/revealed aren't screaming must buy!

Stumbled across Retro Gears at a WM I don't normally go to. I don't have any experience with the mold, nor any big want for Gears as a character, but I figured what the heck. I like the masked head, conversion is quick and satisfying, robot moves good, chunky little truck...all my tolerances appear to be good, so I'm quite happy. The chestplate just on the back of the truck is a little odd, but I generally don't display figures facing the wall, in either mode!

Obligatory redeco idea: blue becomes black, red becomes gunmetal, keep the masked head; visor becomes black, windows become dark teal - G1'ified 2007 Stockade! (who was, of course, redecoed into Gears back in the day)
