IIRC the issue wasn't so much "gold" plastic, it was any swirly metallic plastic. Hasbro, at the very least, seems to have figured it out. Shocked that a TT product from 2010 was having those issues though.

I'm just thankful my Monstructor's still mostly intact. There's a crack on Bristleback's legs, but it's not causing any real problems yet. I fear it's just a matter of time before it splits completely.

I'm really amazed since I'm pretty sure I remember tightening the screws on Slog back in the days before I heard of GPS. I'm tempted to loosen them, but now I'm worried that even that change could be destructive.

For the record, it's just the 2010 Creator Primus. The original Takara Galaxy Force and Hasbro Cybertron releases are unaffected.

I have a friend who got one for me back when they came out, and... never quite got around to sending it to me.

If I do get it, I'm glad that won't be a concern, at least.

That's a really neat Roller from a good Unite Warriors set. If I could have, I'd have gotten Megatronia and that. As it is I've only managed to encounter people selling the Grand Galvatron set piecemeal, and only have two of the five (Cyclonus and Starscream).

How widespread is this? I bought one way back when it first came out. I transformed many times, as recently as a couple months ago, and haven't had a problem. Also, I'm not seeing this addressed on the wiki:

(I'm photographing all of my Transformers, which requires a lot of transforming. I'm keeping a little baggie of all the little bits that have broken off in this process. I don't want to fill up that baggie with bits of Primus )

I just checked and it was on Primus' page, but has since been edited out. (Looks like Saix removed it from the wiki this past September with the note: "Enough", whatever that means.)

Have there been any reports of this besides that one person on Twitter?

Edit: Okay, so I just checked my Creator Primus. I transformed him and everything went fine. I moved all the shiny plastic ratchet parts. I applied a good deal of force to each of the little "sights" at the tip of his arm-mounted dual guns, and nothing. So, here's at least one report of that figure being fine.

Good to hear. That Creator version sure is prettier in planet mode than the original.

Early holiday present!

So yeah, this is awesome to have. I wound up with a ton of Animated toys during that show's run, and one Optimus Prime -- the Cybertronian mode, which was... alright? I guess? He didn't hold together very securely.

All the neat toys were based off his Earth form, but I never wound up with any of those. So I'm glad to finally have some better representation of him in my collection, and this one is really solid!

Almost got him transformed without instructions on my first try, too. The legs didn't unfold the way I thought they would, so I decided to check before I accidentally broke something. But I figured the rest out!
