According to Brick Clicker on YouTube the next Lego TF will be Soundwave.

Soundwave is boxy enough that it should work out pretty well, at least better than Bumblebee. Question is will he come with a cassette or at least retain cassette storage.

LEGO Soundwave sounds like the brickiest brick who ever bricked, bricking out smaller bricks.

Soundwave in Lego form is vastly more likely than Megatron in Lego form.
Is this because of his presumably turning into a tank? I wouldn't expect to see him turn into an Abrams or anything, but I don't see why a Megatron who turns into a Cybertronian tank would be any more unlikely than any of the Lego Star Wars tank sets.

Either way, I'd like a Soundwave. Hopefully he comes with at least some of his cassettes too. A full set of the main six would be fantastic.

Lego canceled the Technic Osprey because it was a real military vehicle, even though it was colored more like a Coast Guard vehicle:

I think the Star Wars and Marvel/DC sets get by on being fantasy, but they really don't do any realistic military vehicles, so chances are a Lego Megatron is going to have to have a...creative altmode.

Also, if Joe Kyde is still working for Lego and is involved at all, I would think some kind of cassette function is going to be there...

^ Tbf in the case of the Osprey set, while Lego did 'officially' cancel it because there was a German group upset about it (IIRC), didn't some sets get out and in the hands of collectors and they discovered it also had some major design flaws that caused pieces to break if you used the gimmicks of the set too? Obviously it's just a theory but IDK I halfway buy the theory that Lego used the 'there are people upset about this set' reason to cancel it so they wouldn't have to admit it had to be cancelled due to design issues.

It wouldn't be an accurate model of an Osprey if something didn't break if used in it's intended fashion.

Yeah, several sets had already been shipped out to a few retailers, and reading the review at the bottom of the page I linked, it does seem like the official reason may have been a face-saving tactic to cover up that the design was not up to standards. I didn't remember that epilogue, so thank you for pointing that out.

On the other hand, I still think we have a better chance of getting Beast Wars Megatron (or Megalligator!) in Lego than any that turns into a military vehicle.

I just think that a Lego Soundwave seems easier to get out than a Lego Megatron. They do a Lego Megatron, there will be complaints regardless of what alternate mode they use. Soundwave? Have him turn into a cassette player, pack in Ravage and/or Laserbeak, and the vast majority will be happy.

People will still complain, of course, but those people will complain about everything. "Why is the sky blue?! I want a red sky! Stupid sky!"

If they do work Transforming cassettes into the design, there's plenty of possible add-on sets they could release as follow-ups...

Aha, so these must be the fans of the final few seasons of TMNT 1987. :p
