Got one on clearance yesterday, decided it really needed more gunk on the gray parts, and a few tweaks here and there. (It rang up as Barricade, suggesting Walmart has headcanon.)

I was going to say "That's beautiful" but I'm not sure that's what you're going for. It looks... convincing. Like everywhere I look I immediately accept that I'm looking at rust.

You said "Minimal modifications to car mode" but the added details go a long way. Every clean spot on the unmodified toy breaks the illusion. When that's fixed, it makes the grunge that was already there work better.
