One of my fave alt modes in Transformers is spaceships and Transformers has quite a few
So here are some of mine

G1 Scattorshot: One of the coolest designs with a sense of scale with the blue bridge
TR Triggerhappy: This is one sleek design and very fan mode friendly
Armada Tidalwave: Yes it is a spaceship with the rear thrusters and wings
Diaclone Dia-Battles V2 Cosmo Maneuver Type: this thing is a work of art with its customizations
G1 Apeface: This one even surprises me but its so sleek fun and swooshable

That is a good list, but I would be remiss if I didn't mention the big guy:

Omega Supreme - Awesome rocket mode with the train around it.

In no particular order:

1). Cybertron Vector Prime
2). G1 Omega Supreme
3). G1 Astrotrain
4). The Ark
5). Cybertron Noisemaze

There are probably tons more that I could list, but these are the first ones that came to mind.

I'm guessing the entire Star Wars Transformers toyline is disqualified by default? Cuz those are some pretty iconic spaceship altmodes. ;)

A spaceship is a spaceship
Sure, but you specified Transformers spaceships. Do Star Wars spaceships count as Transformers spaceships if they're Star Wars spaceships first and foremost?

I've always viewed Cyclonus and Triggerhappy more as more of a futuristic planes than a space ships. I can see the argument for them being "Space Planes" though.

I've always been fond of Skylynx and Omega Supreme as space based vehicles. I also really like TF1 Megatron's space ship mode. TFP Megatron's ship mode is pretty cool too.

I never saw that for Cyclonus. I mean you see how quickly he just destroys that Autobot shuttle in TFTM in space. So that probably clouded my judgement on him a bit though.

OTOH, the 1986 catalog put Scourge and Cyclonus in the 'Decepticon Planes' group, and in '87 when they added Triggerhappy and friends, they were all listed as "Targetmaster Decepticon Planes".

Animated Omega Supreme....oh....wait.....
What's wrong? He was a spaceship. He totally counts, and was going to be on my list.

I like G1 Scattorshot, too.

Not doing a Top 5, because I don't want to rank them. These are just ones I like.

TR Trypticon
G1 Fortress/MF Grand/RiD Brave Maximus. Don't care what anyone says, I always liked that mode WAY more when I found out it was a spaceship.
BW Axalon
BWII Cybertron/Maximal Mobile Base
G1 Ark (cartoon)
G1 Ark (comics)
GoBots Thruster
Cybertron Atlantis, Ogygia, Hyperborea, and Lemuria (I think they're all roughly the same design?)
Cybertron Ark
Armada Axalon
Armada Doomsday
Armada Exodus
Armada Hyperion
Bayverse Ark

...probably more, but I'm stopping there. I'm just kind of a fan of starships, really.

Pretty sure Darth_Prime was making a joke about how there was never a toy made, as this seems to be a thread asking about which TF toys had the best spaceship designs.
ding! ding! ding! This is one of the greatest major on-screen characters that was never made. Did we ever get a reason as to why? Would be great if he was one of the next Titan class figures.

The current theory is because the Supreme class Roll Out Command Optimus Prime toy sold so poorly that Hasbro didn't want to risk the failure of another large-sized Animated toy.

When I get a time machine, on my way back to the 80's to get some mint in box G1 Transformers, Star Wars and GI Joe's (Looking at you USS Flagg), Ill make a quick stop by the Hasbro office around the time of Animated and let them know we the people want it.
