They don't have to keep the name. They could easily change Sky Garry's name like how the old guard changed Stepper to "Ricochet" back in the day.

Isn't a prominent theory is that it's meant to be "Sky Carry" but it got a little mangled in the translation?
From now on, he will be known as Sky Kevin.
I think it's a Japanese grammar thing? The katakana for "kya" in "carry" becomes "gya" with the addition of the dakuten ("), probably due to the sounds its following? (It has been many years since I actually studied Japanese)
Machine Robo has the Jet Garry and Machine Robo Rescue had Siren Garry, which are both essentially carriers for smaller figures, so it has to be a grammatical quirk because it follows another word. I think, if "carry" was the lead word, it would use "kya" without the dakuten. I think.

Full disclosure, there have been no actual leaks or rumors regarding any real release of Sky Garry in this line. This is all just wild speculation on our part related to the equally wild speculation about whether Titan class Star Optimus Prime will just be Star Convoy by himself (giant-sized or a really intricate smaller figure given a Titan-level budget) or a multi-pack of him with either one or both of Grandus and Sky Garry (in a vein similar to how the next SS86 Commander class release will be a two-pack set of Hook and Long Haul).
Honestly, I'm only expecting Star Convoy. Micromaster Hot Rod is possible, but I'm not confident there.
It’s probably a pop culture Japan-ism. Like how they use Scram for random jet components that have nothing to do with nuclear power or leaving, or Harken for anything vaguely pointy.
It’s as simple as somebody thought it sounded cool so they used it once and other people thought it also sounded cool. The creator probably couldn’t tell you what it means, nor do they care.

I actually got a knockoff of Sky Garry a long time ago, I believe before I even knew who he was. Plastic was too soft for some of the pieces to fit or lock right, though. I think he came on a blister card that had a Gundam on it.

If they did release all three, I wouldn't mind if they tinkered a bit with the Battlestar Attack...
Always bugged me how Sky Garry just kinda rests on top. I think it would be neat if the landing gear folded in, and he locked in as a firmer part of the whole thing.
A more solid connection between Grandus and Star Convoy would be nice, too.
(And just have it so you can do it either way, for the purists.)

KOs like these were all over the place at the time, iirc, and so Sky Garry is always behind the 8-ball for me. It took a while before I began associating the design with Transformers at all. While he looks great in robot mode (this is one of those that was clearly designed as a flourish-loaded robot mode first, let's figure out an altmode later), he just looks so painfully generic like that, and the ubiquity of the bootleg also preempted identifying it with the Transformers brand.
I mean, I wouldn't say no to a heavy retool from TR Sentinel/Astrotrain, let alone a new mold, but he's the least interesting Battlestar (can they get away with calling them Star Battlers?) for that reason.

Stellar Battlers could work.
I do hope the eventual reveal does end up a two or three pack set (plus Micro Rodimus). Kinda hoping Star Convoy height wise might end up somewhere close to Armada Prime super mode. One can hope anyway.
