Hmmm. There's honestly a lot I'm getting here but there's not a lot that I find exciting here. We knew we were getting the Primes and other than Sureshot and maybe Quickstrike none of these excite me too much.

I want more characters who havnt had toys like Scrounge, Signal Lancer and Botanica. I want missing favorites like Nightbeat, Hosehead and Siren. I want obscure awesome like the Omnibots or Freezon. On the whole this list is way too unexciting imo.



-ZacWilliam, I missed that Micronus was this year. I think I was too distracted by Skydive and Venom in Wave 3

I’m still expecting Nexus to be a sort of “self contained combiner” like the Street Action Team or Infernicus.

A couple notes and theories:
-Evan Brooks Confirmed that Vector Prime will be making an appearance in 2026 to complete this “set” of 13. My belief is that he’ll end up a retool of Alpha Trion based on the likelihood that Alpha Trion will get a Starship mode as seen in numerous sources over the years: His first “G1 Toy” was FunPub retool of Vector Prime, his Titans Return toy featured a Macrossian ship mode, his Cyberverse toy had a ship mode quite evocative of Vector Prime (with kibble that worked for wings/cape), and the comics depicted him with a hovership alt mode. Plus, getting a lion mode would diminish Onyx Prime’s value as the “Beast Prime”.
-Brawl is an oddball as a Voyager, and that might change. But part of the reason he might be a Voyager could be as an “armory bot”. Nearly all the Combaticon limbs originally came with a number of additional weapons. For cost reasons, those might have been shifted into a set with Brawl (himself sporting an extra cannon in cartoon appearances).
-Liege Maximo is, I believe, the last MIA Prime. He’s probably going to end up a leader, though speculation exists as him being a Titan. I’d skew towards leader given I don’t believe Hasbro would put a character that obscure into that price point at mass retail. I’m still banking on the Titan being an established character, possibly even a redo of a prior Titan at the smaller price point.

A standalone Prime Cliffjjumper release, hmm. Terrorcon? If it's a straight reuse of the 4pack, I'm in.

Speaking of 4packs, wish we'd hear about the rest of the one with Animated Nemesis and Horri-bull already. (And what colors the Slag/Snarl pack will be in, like who gets to be red and who gets to be green.)

If that's ALTERNATORS Smokescreen, I'm all in.

Hope Powerglide is followed by a Bad Boy soon.

The rest I'll have to skip for now due to the budget being what it is. Although I think the Combaticons stand a good chance despite the frame approach.

All the Primes are a maybe. THese are the more "weird" ones so it'll depend more on how their gimmick is executed.
Quickstrike, maybe? I do like Beast Wars but dude was just cannon fodder.
BIg Convoy, sure.
Sideways eh. I'll have to see how the heads work first.
Animated Ratchet, I'll have to see how well he's done and the aesthetic in particular. I do like having Ironhide and Ratchet as different molds, though honestly would like Prime Ratchet better.

I'm all in for the 13. Nexus being a Voyager is definitely odd, though. I was definitely expecting him to be a redo of the OTFCC version, retooled from the Combaticons and Aerialbots. This definitely has me curious. I wonder if it might be something like a bot that could replace Onslaught within the Bruticus frame. Or if they could come up with some way of having him be interchangeable with multiple combiner torso bots, that could be really interesting. Not sure if we've seen enough of Superion to get any feel for whether Silverbolt and Motormaster might be interchangeable.

I have the original Universe Razorclaw, but I'll be happy to get this version. He and Sideways will join Galvatron's crew and the RotB Terrorcons as Unicron's heralds. If we could get some new Blentrons and/or the other Universe generals, that would be a pretty good force to put up against the 13.

I am disappointed to see so little Beast Wars. I'm delighted to see Quickstrike, and I'm still happy about Big Convoy. I really hope there's more coming, though. Rampage would be a great fit for an additional Leader, at the very least.

So far, looking like the only ones I'll be skipping are Smokescreen (assuming it's G1), Cliffjumper (assuming it's the same as the 4-pack), Wreck-Gar, and the G2 Dinobots. I was kinda hoping there'd be less I wanted next year.

And again, there’s the infamous story of how the design team hadn’t decided on the leader gimmick of Power of the Primes when they made Powermaster Optimus Prime a Titan Master. And with precedent of Alpha Trion ”sharing” similar body structure and alt mode with Vector Prime, it does make a degree of sense.

I would HOPE if they don’t go that route, they’d at least do a new deco on him to spice things up.

I just see it as a matter of economics. There's only so much budget per wave, and re-releasing Vector Prime as-is is an easy way to fill a slot cheaply and spread some budget around to his wave mates.

Maybe he gets repainted to reflect his Universe 2.0 colour scheme, his TFO colour scheme, or his colour scheme that one time he was gold and orange(?).
But I don't see them going out of their way to spend more money on more tooling for Vector when they have a mould already bought and paid for.

Evan even seems to lean into that by saying Vector will "make an appearance" in AotP to "complete the set."
That reads as "we're giving him a release for the sake of completion" not "he's getting all new tooling."

Yeah, I find that extremely disappointing.

This has been my thinking on it as well going back as far as I can remember. Actually, I would prefer Mammoth Primal, but then I would have also gone with Leo Primal. It's never felt right making Lio and Big into Primes while Primal isn't. And it's always bugged me how Hasbro would pretty freely toss the Prime title out to characters who weren't really Primes while also refusing for a long time to name Rodimus as a Prime on virtually anything due to wanting to keep the Prime title special.

Yeah, I went with Prime instead of Primal to match Lio. As for Optimus Primal... well, he's got Optimus in his name, he needs something to make his stand out.

Still, we were really close to things being very different. A cut scene from Transformers 2007 had Sam experience a vision of Sentinel Prime from robo-heaven explaining Optimus and Megatron's history and the start of the war. Had that made it into the final movie then the whole plan of Sentinel for DotM probably doesn't happen. Couple that with Hasbro ok'ing the original plans for Animated and who knows?

Maybe today Sentinel is still a fairly benign figure with Rodimus becoming a capital J Jerk?

Would that be something Rodimus Prime fans like? I donno. Genuinely curious. Rodimus was a very dry and sarcastic dude in S3 so it wouldn't be so out of place. Dude basically told Sandstorm to get over it five seconds after his planet blew up.

I don't know if that was the original plan or if it was just a cover name to throw off leakers. The Bay films were kind of notorious with that. Hell, Shockwave was one big fakeout to hide Sentinel's heel turn.

For as much flack as Bay's films get for shoddy continuity, I can't see Sentinel being used as a villain in DotM if he showed up as a friendly force ghost in TF 2007.

Not because I think Bay cares but because I think someone would have gone "ok we did that character, check"
Like I don't think Sentinel even comes up when planning DotM if he's previously been shown to be in robo-heaven.

Not saying the movie doesn't happen. Maybe they use Nova Prime in that spot, maybe it's Ultra Magnus. Who knows?

But even taking Bay's loose concept of continuity into account, nah. I don't see Sentinel happening in DotM if his original scene from '07 made it in.

Funnily enough Sentinel gets name dropped in RotF. So between that and the original plans for '07 someone on the team really wanted to use him for something
