I wanna see this Star Convoy next to the Selects version. As of now, I don’t think I’m switching.
Sorry, you can only have fun in the correctly mandated way. They already did that with combiner wars. These are going to something different.
There are comparison shots of Star Convoy next to G2 Grimlock. Convoy is about double the height of Grimlock.I wanna see this Star Convoy next to the Selects version. As of now, I don’t think I’m switching.
General comments I’ve read from recent interviews seems to indicate Hasbro might be scaling their lines back a hair. We’ve already seen that in Legacy with Hasbro moving to more reruns/package refresh figures, and I saw one of the marketing guys remark several weeks back to shifting to 3 Studio Series waves per year with less product carryover.I just hope all the Aerialbots are easy to get, no 'Breakdown' this time.
Hard to tell yet, but Superion will probably look pretty good. That said, I don't know that I'll be replacing my CW version (of ANY of the gestalts, really). I only bought the new Legacy Menasor because I completely skipped the less-than-great CW version. I'm 100% in for any combiners that CW didn't cover, though.
I've always been a bit sad that Generations Metroplex and the Combiner Wars torsos were not made to connect is any way. (Also, no CW limbs/Metroplex attachment, like the original.) I get that Metroplex was designed way before the CW stuff, but still, I'm sad.
Is that a Micromaster Hot Rod with Star Optimus Prime?
Giggity!
Also, art has leaked for wave 2's Heatwave
Also a scan of part of Star Convoy's instruction sheet, indicating some out of box assembly and a space for a second trailer, possibly indicating future Battlestars, I think?
Heatwave is SO bought! They could really just do a whole Generations line of Rescue Bots and just take my money.
Well now they need to do Blades and Boulder. Least get the original 4 out.
Still waiting for Monstructor, personallyWho was left that didn't make it into Combiner Wars?
It's a thing the original toy had.I'm confused on one thing with Star Convoy/OP whatever. Micromaster Hot Rod has a little truck that he rides inside that turns into a small battle station? Is this some sort of Pretender Vehicle homage or something else? It just seems an odd inclusion. I'd think if they were doing that they'd have made the truck look like Rodimus Prime.
It’s a replication of a gimmick the original 1991 toy had. Several toys came with little “battle trailers” that interacted with the Battlestar bases (aka, the big guys).I'm confused on one thing with Star Convoy/OP whatever. That’s kind of why I’m baffled by the slavish devotion to the original toy, since so much of that just isn’t present in the current product representation.

I reckon it's due to the increased budget. With a "mini-titan" budget, they can go all-in, just like they've done with the Haslab editions. Previously, both the previous titan class and other price-points "couldn't" include everything as they had to make a certain size of toy (which presumably, ate-up most of the budget). It’s a replication of a gimmick the original 1991 toy had.
