Amalgamous- I was baffled at first how you incorporate a "constantly changing" Transformer into the limitations of the toyline, then it hit me: It's been some 8 years since Sixshot made his appearance in Titans Return. A six changer would encompass the IDEA of the character, while also offering a solid foundation for several redecos/retools.
If you're going for a multi-changer mold for Amalgamous, I'd point out that we're due for a CR/RiD Mega/Galva/Gigatron to go with Omega Prime.

I'm still not a fan of a potential Commander slot being taken up by Nexus
I don't know if they'll make Nexus' torso a Commander class or if they'll just release Nexus as a five bot gift set ala toy colours Menasor but... I'm fairly confident he's happening. They'll get all thirteen of the... Thirteen... done before it's all over.

Beast Wars having to share an anniversary with TFTM is so unfortunate.

The fact that Prime now dies so often. I mean, at least once in every continuity. That it’s become a running joke, is both funny and kinda sad.

Though nothing will quite bit the Marvel G1 perfection of Prime doing in a computer game. Having his entire mind saved on a floppy disk. Get resurrected as PMOP. Die to Unicron, onky for part his mind to merge with Hi-Q, turning him into a version of Prime, who is then made into Prime by The Last Autobot.
I suddenly get why they made Optimus the 13th Prime.

It isn't because they wanted to deify the big hero of the franchise, it's because dying and coming back is basically his superpower! Kill him, and he just gets back up like an inflatable bop bag!

"Behold my power to arise... and arise again!"

Yeah, now I finally see where they were going with Chumbawamba Prime here.

I Rise! You Fall!

I Fall! I Rise!

There’s B5 Sheridan line that’s perfect for this.

I thought you died?
I did. I’m feeling much better now.

EDIT: Also, chumbawumba Prime is a bit of merch I never knew existed. I mean I should have expected it. But I didn’t. Neat.

Belatedly to all the Hot Rod/Rodimus talk:

Rodimus would be more fondly remembered if Season 3 wasn't animated by AKOM.
That's it, that's the hot take.
More stuff that could have helped Rodimus.
Give him a more unique design once he becomes a Prime. Hot Rod and Rodimus just look too similar and it may be hard to sell the idea that he's become Optimus' successor if he still looks like Hot Rod to a kid. Kids aren't stupid necessarily (well some are 🥲) but their brains aren't fully developed and they tend to be very visually oriented with their understanding of storytelling. Make it seem like Rodimus really is the new Optimus with a design that sells that. He doesn't have to be a cab over truck but like... something that makes him seem like more than just a taller Hot Rod with wrinkles.

On that note? Give him an Optimus-style faceplate. I'm serious. You don't have to change his personality one bit from what we got, but give him an Optimus-style face plate to further sell the idea that Hot Rod has "become" Optimus' successor.

First thing would be to not call him Rodimus.

For all my fondness of the character, that's something I'll always be nonplussed at having made it through all the levels of approval to the final product.

It parallels forcing him into the role of the next Optimus Prime, right down to forcing the name to "work".

Someone once joked to me that "Rodimus Prime" sounds like a Transformers porn name and it's like... yeah.

I think it's too late to change that, he's Rodimus for better or worse.... but if we're talking about what could have been changed in 1986... Excellion Prime? Pyro Prime? Ignitrus Prime? I donno, just spitballing.

Or just Hot Rod Prime; Prime can be a title (as it ended up anyway).

In terms of design:
I do want to keep the fiery space Winnebago. Maybe change the front a little bit so it's not still basically Hot Rod under a camper shell.

This can lead to a slightly different robot mode, maybe one where the windshield and roof form more of the chest. I'd be interested to see a take that was distinct enough but still kept the forearm pipes, flames, and spoiler wing somehow.

Could have been worse. Could have been... "Hotimus Prime".
