Allspark member TriBlurr brings us our first look at Age of the Primes Voyagers Skybyte and Heatwave! Skybyte is a new mold that transforms from roboshark to robopoet, while Heatwave is a remold of Legacy Bulkhead. Pictures of all modes are below:

I might pick up Skybyte, but honestly I still have my original and this doesn't seem to improve upon it at first glance.

Never watched RID'01 until it was on Tubi a few years ago so I never had any toys of the show. I like anime (I was more of a Gundam & Macross fans than TF), but not really into RID'01 aesthetic. The only RID'01 bot designs are I like are Gigatron, Sky-byte and JRX. I'll get this Sky-byte.

The toys really are something special though. Fire Convoy is an epic toy that stands up to even the best TF toys they make today. Ultra Magnus is a great toy and together they make the epic Omega Prime! Scourge is the start of the evil black Optimus repaints, and they chose a great mold for it. The Autubot brothers were amazing! Beast Wars type robots with car alt modes! Megatron and Railracer, as you mentioned, are epic toys! Skybyte and all the other Beast Wars molds really work well here too.

The line was just really great, and had some wonderful repaints from G1 - BM.

Yeah, the cartoon was pretty much just... meh.

But those toys. I still have PTSD from transforming sideswipe.

That's why some people are pissed that Omega Prime's locked behind HasLab. I think Fire Convoy's design is OK. But I really don't like Magnus' proportion (and his personality weren't handled well in the show to me either) so I didn't back the HasLab. If one day Gigatron is announced though... I'm sure I'll punch myself silly.

I'm not saying it didn't have it's moments. I had great fun watching the suffering of X-brawns owner. But overall, it was a pretty mid attempt to sell toys.

Though I would happily have the train team reissued. I only managed to get one of them back when, and I do love me some non-scramble city styled combiners.

It's been years since I saw RiD01, but I still vividly remember the fish test episode, because the Pokemon fish test episode aired like a week later, and I remember thinking that was a weird fad.
