Didn't he claim at one point he'd put an end to the war in Ukraine in just 24 hours? That's one hell of a bold statement/claim/promise?, and probably the biggest load of BS that's ever been said during a campaign.

Maybe someone should ask him how he intend to do it.
He is approaching put up or shut up time.

The only way to do it, probably is to drop a nuclear weapon on them.

Giving Putin whatever he wants apparently. Kinda like how Chamberlin ended WWII in 1938 by appeasing Hitler. Until, you know, he kept wanting more and more and it became untenable.

I do wonder how Republicans are going to operate with a Trifecta. That means “Government” is entirely on their shoulders and they will be the only ones to blame if they screw up. We’ll (presumably…) be voting again in a couple years so wonder how they’ll do then.

Why would trump nuke what his boss wants? He's going to force ukraine to cede land to russia in exchange for a cease fire.

And russia will regroup, rebuild, and attack again. Then trump will force ukraine to cede more land in exchange for a cease fire. Rinse and repeat until russia has most of the old soviet union back together. Hell, they might even go after poland because the US will not support nato now.

Trumps name is in it 300 times. The organization that wrote it LITERALLY said they wrote it as the roadmap for his administration.
You are standing there like you dropped the mic, but it is still in your hand. I think I know the point you are trying to make, but you aren't getting it done.

Remember when Mueller finished his investigation on Russian collusion after what seemed like forever, because we thought he was going to take Trump down? His report said he by no means was exonerating Trump, but he couldn't prove the case. It was easy to demonstrate that Russia had made efforts to help Trump get elected, just as they've been demonstrated to do this time. But you can't charge him with that. Just like this, someone can freely believe what they want about it until there is evidence that he was in on it.

To state my same opinion a different way, I don't think there would ever have been a point in bringing him in on it. He didn't know or understand anything that they didn't. It was pretty clear that he was very likely to be the nominee and part of the reason that his first term was so ineffective policy-wise was that they didn't make plans. The infrastructure bill never got written. The new policy to replace ACA never got written. So they wrote up some plans for him. I cannot prove that he wasn't involved and I wouldn't be really shocked if he was at some rudimentary level, but they didn't need his help writing it. He's a moron. When he has an idea it is dumb. And there was no need at any point to get him to sign off on it or approve it. His feedback would be drivel. And his signature on it could cost him the election. So even if they did talk to him in the beginning, keeping him at arms length would have been the best way to go on it. Any piece of it he either will or won't run with when the time comes. They just took the liberty of preparing plans. Again, again, it is perfectly possible that they met with him on day one and he told them to write up a plan. But that meeting has not been revealed and I wouldn't have had the meeting if I were him OR if I were them. Nothing we know publicly implies that he had anything to do with it.

I don't want to drill too far down on this question, because the reality is that it was just bravado. Trump wants voters to believe that he magically walks up to tables and shows both parties the perfect deal where everyone is happy. It is his mystique.

My comment is taking his comment literally. I believe the only way he can stop the Ukraine war in 24 hours is to obliterate Ukraine. He isn't going to do that. I'm not saying he is. What I believe he actually intends to do is cut off their funding, but Ukraine will keep fighting quite a while without our help. And Europe indicates that they are ready to help more if we stop. And I don't know if that'll be enough. But it'd be like a year of grinding down and even then Ukraine would probably maintain an insurgency. Trump cannot force them to cede land or give up anything. They don't work for him. They are fighting for their country and they aren't going to give up because he says so. They'll only do it if they get to a point where they feel like they have to.

Ahh, okay.

Trump doesn't actually have anything to do with it. Trump is a figurehead. He's not going to do anything except strut around, act like an alzheimers patient, and scream at clouds. But then: the people who wrote project 2025 already knew that. The masses of like minded, devoted peoples that are about to be swept into office are going to enact it. Sure, his name is ******* in it 300 times over 900 pages, and they were caught bragging that it will end up in his hands no matter what; but that's coincidental at best: turning point USA wouldn't have even whited out trumps name if they needed to replace that particular stooge.

It doesn't matter what you think, or whether trump endorsed it or not: it is the plan for the foreseeable future. And I do not mean "the next four years" I mean probably the next generation or more. Because all the republican gerrymandering, voter roll purges, disenfranchisement will be full steam ahead from here, completely uncontested. Or rather, once contested thrown up to the completely sympathetic, utter corrupt supreme court who will hand wave it through. The next american election will be no more legitimate than a russian or north korean election.

And in two years, when the next round of election hits'; and republicans get their unstoppable super majority and all three branches, don't be surprised and don't act like you weren't warned.

"every major Republican adviser & influencer"

The article quotes 4 guys. One dude who's been out the outs of Trumpland for 8 years, a couple other jiveposting podcast hosts, and a random Texas county GOP figure. Plus it's obviously trolling.

Official count finished for my area and it turned out to be far less dire than I thought once they added in mail-ins and early votes. A bit over 60% turnout now for my area, with a 5% overall drop for Harris from 2020, and a 2% overall bump or so for Trump. Third party candidate dropped to a third of the 2020 votes.
