Sounds like, from what I read elsewhere, the UV bulbs used were ones ordinarily used for sterilizing surfaces, and thus were far too powerful for what they were being used for.

What were they being used for, and why? Is this one of those "tech-bros have bizarre ideas about health" things, like Steve Jobs living off nothing but fruit or the head of Oracle recommending bogus treatments for COVID?

I think it's "people who don't understand how value works assumed the more powerful bulbs must be 'better' because they're more expensive".

As far as I can tell, they were just being used as exotic lighting at the event. As NovaSaber says, it was likely someone not knowing what they were doing.

Ubisoft have launched an NFT blockchain game some 2 or 3 years too late to cash in on the NFT scam:
I'm sure that's going to go great for them.

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

When they first announced the concept: their own users and developers reamed 'em for it. I guess even then they were too invested (or too stupid.) to abandon it.

Ubisoft has been slowly dying of late anyway. Might as well let them put the gun to their head.
