I've seen two sets of KO Combiners that I'm intrerstad in buying for the kids (they are 6 and 4 years old) but I don't want the stuff that will break on the first play - I know that you get what you pay for but I've got some KO's that are ok
For the 6 yr I want to but the Dinobots set:

On the plus side, they look like the Dinobots from the cartoon, their transformation was made more simple and they combine - the reviews are mix and I cant find any information on this set - every time I look I get the POTP Colored Dinobot set
If not that set I thought about this set:

I got him a KO G1 Ariealbots set and he loves them, I know that there are a lot of KO of Defensor and I can find a lot of information on other KO but not this one (with the Gold highlights and the red hood on First Aid)
I would appriciate and help or insight you have on those, are the worth buying?

However, I'll try to recommend you some ones. Please bear in mind that most, if not all of my recommendations have probably sold out by now, as they are a few years old by now.
The best KO combiners that were going around were the Combiner Wars versions (and by extension, the POTP Dinobots). I've seen the Protectorbots, Aerialbots, Combaticons, Stunticons, Terrorcons and Predacons in their original sizes. The Terrorcons had most of their team members oversized, plus the Dinobots were oversized and were available in both G1 and Power Ranger (dinoforce?) colours. The Constructicons were downsized to roughly the same size as the mainline combiner wars combiners. Some of the CW sets, like the Arialbots and Combaticons, also got slightly simplified versions of team members and/or primary colours recolours (green, blue, red versions, etc).

You might be able to find it still, but it's a flimsy, non-poseable figure in combined mode and may need adult supervision to combine it.
Also, there are several "legit", official or mainstream Chinese and Korean combining/transforming robot toylines, which are also mainly available at Taobao, eBay, etc.

Also, I bought some (not so great) combiner robots from the "Daiso" budget chain of shops in Japan, which might be available in Canada? Check out the post about them
here. You might also want to check out some Dollar stores in your area and/or regular department stores as I've read they also carry KO TFs sometimes?
