I am fairly confused that this wasn't a ROTB style situation where the mainline and Studio Series alike had the main characters well represented, some even with two different molds (not counting one-steps etc) between them. That seemed to work okay. Or was it such a dip that they were gun-shy to do it again two years in a row?

Yolopark and Blokees are doing pretty well with the non-transforming representations of everyone, with the latter even dedicating a whole wave to a lot of characters (much easier there of course).

But even a fairly modest mainline/Studio Series pairing would cover ground better I think. Cogless gimmick-based robot-only toys of the 4 in the main line, and cogged Studio Series Deluxes. Have Studio Series Voyagers of Sentinel, Op, and Megs. Add in a Studio Series Airachnid and a Prime Changer of the Trackers.

It's bad when Hasbro themselves didn't seem to support TF:One. They knew the movie was coming out THIS year. So why not free up space in Studio Series (for the collectors) to get the core cast member / biggest names out THIS year? Just one or two waves dedicated to this movie?

Ah, Hasbro not supporting something...

If Hasbro were a proper length of wood, I don't think they'd even support a table.

Death Trackers are just the black ones who work for Airachnid. The gold and silver ones are "Gold Trackers" (Sentinel's personal guardsmen) and "Silver Trackers" (the lowest ranking mooks).

Yeah, you could knock the entire core cast out in one wave, two waves tops, of a "standard" movie line.
Except…Hasbro doesn’t DO “standard movie lines” anymore. They haven’t since The Last Knight. Even last year’s “Core Line” was about half the size of a “traditional year” for Generations or Studio Series.
And the North American continent largely skipped that line, except for Walmart’s carrying the Voyagers and Target getting the deluxes as multipack exclusives.

THAT SAID…I do agree with the general sentiment (Again, assuming there isn’t anymore product on tap for the spring. We’ll know for sure after Christmas). There is NO reason for the only Elita figure to be one of the overpriced Battler figures. There is NO reason for ANY of the top billed actors to not have a toy across multiple size classes. They gave Wheeljack (Who I don’t even think had a line) got a one step figure..but not top billed Starscream or Alpha Trion?
This reeks of poor communication between Paramount and Hasbro and poor management on Hasbro’s part.
Then again, we might all be making a big fuss over nothing and Hasbro will drop new waves of everything for release after Christmas that will address most of the concerns we’re raising. Again, Marketing basically ignores talking about the “kids stuff” unless it’s a big launch event.

But, going back to LordGigalce‘s figure selections? If I were doing it, I’d follow the Core structure from Rise of the beasts, so the line would look like this:
Deluxe Wave 1-
Orion Pax
Elita One
D-16

Voyager Wave 1-
Sentinel Prime
Alpha Trion

Deluxe Wave 2-
Bumblebee
Airrachnid
Starscream

Voyager wave 2 (RotB should have had Scourge as a 4th Voyager to really complete the line, btw)
Optimus Prime
Megatron

I get that, but even then I think it could have worked within the new way of doing things. They had a "core" TFO line yes, but every new SS release that came out alongside it should have been TFOne related. We got Optimus and Megs, sure, but Elita, B-127, and Sentinel should have come out alongside them.
Like... I'm sure GamerEdition Sunstreaker and GamerEdition Decepticon Trooper are fine toys, but are ten-fifteen year old game designs really a priority over figures representing a major theatrical release right now?
That we're not getting three of the five announced SS TFO figures until spring of 2025 (eight months after the movie was released) is a massive failure on someone's part at Hasbro.

It wasn't just Paramount who dropped the ball on supporting TFO.
