I've always favoured a more abstract translation.

Cybertronian name: *high-pitched digital tone*
Literal translation: Syncopated rhythm arising from apparent chaos
"Fixed" translation: Jazz

Cybertronian name: *modulating digital beeps*
Literal translation: Hunter tracking prey through shadows
"Fixed" translation: Prowl

Cybertronian name: *shrill screech*
Literal translation: Last radiometric signal from a collapsing singularity
"Fixed" translation: Starscream

This could work with Orion Pax. The myth of Orion is very old on Earth, a hunter myth we get from ancient Greece which in all likelihood predates ancient Greece. And "Pax" is just Latin for "peace." So "Orion Pax" could be a translation of "peaceful hunter" or, if you wanted to stretch it, a warrior who fights in the hope of achieving peace. Which is very on brand for Optimus Prime.

The main reason I liked "Optronix" is that it shared a sort of consistency with Hot Rod in that part of that name made it into his Prime name, whereas Orion Pax only does that through the initials.

My head canon is he starts off as Orion Pax, dock worker, like in the toon. Gets blown up by Megatron and rebuilt into Optronix by Alpha Trion (who doesn't have the matrix in my head canon.) who takes him under his wing as a data clerk (using his "Humble Origins" form.) Eventually, things get bad enough that Optronix gets conscripted into the Security Forces and eventually happens to be the highest ranking person around when Sentinel dies, at which point he inheirets the matrix becomes Optimus Prime.
