I would absolutely love to get a U-Haul Robot. Gamer edition Prime, I think, would make for a good base mold.
I don't mind the retconning FFoD guys with established "previous Matrix bearer" names. These guys should be fairly important and it sucks that the original script didn't even bother with names. Giving them those is by far one of the least egregious things AVP did.
And given Animated's design for Sentinel, it makes the FFoD U-Haul Robot being another version of Sentinel that much easier to square.

Oh I get it. The designs for the FFoD guys look like they were cobbled together from various art assets at 4:45pm on a Friday (this is part of their charm, btw).G1 cartoon writers: "It was just a JOB to us! Lighten up, you nerds!"
But still... they could have rattled off some bs. It would be curious to see how the brand's overall mythology would have evolved had the FFoD guys gotten names. The Sunbow and Marvel writers didn't coordinate, so I doubt we would have gotten "We are Prima, We are Prime Nova, We are Sentinel Prime, We are Optimus Prime" in FFoD. Likely they would have come up with their own list of names, and we'd have two separate G1 lineages.
As it was, the Marvel guys were the only ones that bothered, and that was the list that got built up, expanded upon, and added to over the years, and then retroactively applied to the FFoD guys. Which was probably for the best, but still. The alternate timeline where they gave the FFoD guys their own distinct names and how that and the Marvel lineage would have been dealt with is fun to speculate on.
That, and the fact that Furman didn't make that list until four years after FFOD was made.

Optimus was a Powermaster and Thunderwing was the main villain by then. It was the penultimate issue of the Matrix Quest.
Part of me wants then to just go ahead and retool Powerful Robot out of Cyclonus.
I think that's a different Hasbro/Takara Tomy IP.
This is another sign that Cyclonus should have gotten the Matrix instead of Hot Rod.
Why? Hot Rod looks like Primus himself, not his doofus son.
Primus doesn't exist in the original cartoon; they were made by Quintessons.

Also it sucks if every universe has the same origin. Let the cartoon keep the Quintesson one.
Japan went and put Primus in the cartoon universe, but still let the Quints have their creation backstory.
Though, one could make the argument that Japanese G1 Primus is less an actual god and more just a being simply revered as one. Like how Japanese G1 Unicron isn't a god either (as was originally the case for TFTM Unicron), but wants to become one.
