I just became aware of the LocoRoco soundtrack. 😍

And, consequently, noticed that the accompaniment in the main theme has kind of a New Orleans jazz-funeral style to it, and decided to fire up iOptigan on my iPad, load up the "Dixieland Strut" disc, and see how it sounds played along to that. And managed to play both the melody and chord progression perfectly on the first try without hesitating. That's the first time I've done that with any song. I don't know if that says more about me or the song.

I randomly just purchased the transformers RPG core rulebook. I will more than likely never play it: but I've wanted it for a few years now.

One of my favorite takeout places just goofed up my order and gave me extra food. My chicken parm sub was supposed to be half size but they gave me a full. Other customizations I ordered are there so I know I didn't get the wrong bag. The kitchen just got the wrong size in my favor.

I'll pay for it the next time I'm in there but for now I'm just going to enjoy the deliciousness.

Today's technically still the last day of my weekend. But it's my last weekend day right before vacation, so there isn't the usual "got to get everything together and ready for the start of the work week tomorrow " stress. Today's going to be a lowkey, laid back kinda day.

I spent some time yesterday and today putting things in frames and putting them up on the wall in my study - postcards from family trips and some art from when my daughters were little. We've never saved every last thing my daughters did, but I have some that've been up on my walls for years, and I'm framing them (with those really simple Walmart black plastic frames) just to protect them so they don't get torn.

Anyway - I thought I'd lost one paper from my older daughter. It was a printoff of a really old coloring page where she colored someone as Bumblebee, because she knew he was one of my favorites. Pretty sure it was originally Bluestreak, and the robot and car modes have completely different color schemes, but she colored it as 'Bee just for me, so I was worried I'd lost that one. Found it behind a shelf, so next time I buy some frames, it's going back up on the wall.

I'm making dinner rolls for easter dinner. Making bread isn't hard at all, but damn is it long. Blooming, rising, proofing, so much hurry up and wait.

No worse than IT, actually...

I'm not the greatest cook ever, but it's satisfying to do some work in the kitchen. Do you get to read or something while you wait?

I've got set of bone conduction earphones, so I just listen to youtube videos while I wait.

But blooming yeast and rising bread dough is strictly a hands off activity: so I would just be sitting at my computer anyway.

Today I encountered a bureaucrat who knew what she was doing and actually tried to help me. We still ran into a roadblock because the universe has decided that I just am not allowed to ever be done with all this, but she applied some common sense and at least tried to find a workaround.

It's all I ever asked for. Just try to help me. We failed but she still made my day.
