I’ll be honest: I can’t be bothered to get a rectangle’s name right. If they want to be taken seriously, they’ll need at least two more sides and double the total internal angle.
Nightshriek rounds out the twothree-pack. It’s a simple, effective colorscheme but the mold just isn’t much. The head can move up and down while the legs can fold in and out. The painted detail helps differentiate him from Ratbat but it’s nothing outstanding. He’s meant to perch on Thundertron...
Moving on to the meat of the three-pack, Thundertron. He’s a well-articulated robot with a lot of style. Aside from the regal stylings expected of a pirate captain, he’s covered in sculpted battle damage. In peg-leg mode though, his balance isn’t the best but that’s real world accuracy I guess...
Calcitron is… okay. Mentioned the tolerances in earlier posts but they were mostly fixable with a little breaking in and floor polish. Except for his stupid detachable arms. Colors work well as an arctic themed deco but I don’t know how well that translates to a character made of rock. Would...
Here’s the other guy from the 4-pack I’m keeping. Cliffjumper’s great. new head is Prime Cliffjumper with a nose but I always liked how aggressive Prime Cliffjumper’s head design was, so this is a huge pro for me. Colors look about right eyeballing it though I wonder if coloring the headlights...
I’ve excised most IDW influence on my shelf-canon since it went to crap rapidly towards the end. Far earlier than that, I just decided that Tarn is robo-Tom Hardy Bane. The Decepticon Jobber Dudes ended up being just that and their story arc sucked.
Anyway, the toy. The tolerances are decent...
I'm aware of the disassembling gimmick. I'm asking why they made the arms in particular detachable. The pieces of rock on his arms and legs come off as armor, the shins come off to make a hammer combined with the axe accessory. The arms just come off and even have extra pegs on the shoulderpads...
I'll be completely honest, I was thinking of selling rock guy off but he matches my room's decor far too well.
Also transforming back and forth loosened him up a bit but the detachable parts are still too detachable. Why are his arms even detachable?
I live with my parents and so do my siblings because it’s a waste of a bigass house and people here don’t move out until they marry and even then some don’t. They refuse to let me pay for anything or take my money so I just end up buying them meals or paying for miscellaneous expenses like pet...
Last time we had a transformer showing this much cleavage, people were throwing fits.
Anyway, I don’t like him much. He’s pretty terrible to handle with the pointy and rough surfaces making it unpleasant to find a good place to grip and a weird mix of overly tight tolerances with a few loose...
Lots of good things today. Orange tarantulas actually looks really good in person and if I hadn’t already made arrangements otherwise, I’d probably keep him. Also not TF related but Gravity Beam Ghidorah. He’s insanely huge.
