Ah, appreciate it. I was increasingly confused reading that because I thought by "stuff going on" you meant generally, like there were weather disturbances or idk a shooting or other threats in the area or something (hence my mention of my sense of time being cooked because I couldn't narrow...
I think "Titan Masters" tried to cover the same ground that hypothetical "Masterforce" would. Or could be made to do, if they fleshed it out more (as it was, the line had one Titan, and we didn't really get much about the Titan Masters being the key to that or whatever). The word "Titan" instead...
Steeljaw is pretty good. I'm not crazy about the partsforming, but i get it. Helps that the base body IS technically complete and all that needs to be tacked on are the wings and tail. It's less about costs and more about feasibly cramming all the features into that small a rectangle while...
I'm ready for another Micromaster 10-pack with it all being cassettes. It may be less than 10 since some of these are Core class now.
Rewind, Flip Sides, Rosanna, Blockrock.
Core Nightstalker, Core Enemy.
I'm not a fan of HAVING to remove the heads to transform and hoping the cockpits and such are good enough storage -- Skullcruncher's rubber plastic back panel wasn't super secure, and Perceptor didn't even have storage iirc (and then there's Wolfwire's odd breakage situation). To be fair, the...
The problem with the neck block system is that you end up essentially still only being able to use one of the heads at a time. One benefit of having complete standalone extra heads is putting them on other figures to mix up looks or provide bases for customs.
If a Sunstreaker, for instance...
I really want Transformers to start doing this more. But none of those "alternate masks on the neck block" things they did with the troop builder 4pack. Do a uniform neck ball/socket and make heads more easily swappable from toy to toy.
I wouldn't connect this movie's performance to those, even though those did indeed do a lot to sour people on the live-action movies. Too much has transpired in between to make those dots the ones to connect, including Transformers doing well at the box office and generally being well-received...
We could really do with a slightly longer break, I think. The GI Joe life support teamup movie is disrupting that.
But Transformers in theaters needs to feel like an event again, now that the quality is largely there (Bee/ROTB) and the commitment to doing them well is stronger than ever with...
I will never not love this trilogy.
At the time Armada was a HARD reset of all expectations, going from complex (if maddening) engineering and an occasionally lean and lithe aesthetic to all chunky all the time. Dave van Domelen iirc mentioned it feeling like going back to late G1 and carving...
Easy, friend.
I actually did watch and enjoy some of the 60s series in late 80s reruns as a kid, yes. I didn't know at the time that this was what Schumacher was emulating (indeed, I knew nothing about the change at all other than that there was a new director and new Batman).
I enjoyed both...
That would be a neat way to use that Nova Prime I was wishing for. Have the Rodimus hitch connect to a trailer peg, and his rear rockets plug into a bigger engine thing.
The Nova Prime robot mode wings could be GIANT FLAMES.
Oh, in this movie definitely. Both villains seemed to be trying to be the, or a, Joker. Like, it's 90s Jim Carrey, they knew what they wanted. But I was not expecting that from Tommy Lee Jones, whom I REALLY wanted a heavier Two-Face from. Certainly not the movie for THAT, of course, but kid me...
