He-Man, and also the Masters of the Universe

Got my Masterverse wave 2 and Faker in this week. Sort of hoped that in hand Spikor would wow me, but no, he's exactly as dull, ugly and pointless as I expected him to be. It baffles me that he took a slot that could have been given to... well, anyone else, but really where's Orko? Fisto got as...

He-Man, and also the Masters of the Universe

I think this came up in the original thread but I was never aware until very recently that there was a whole thing about Man-E-Faces and the color of... whatever he has going on. I always though he was covered head to toe in some sort of hazmat suit deal, but then I found out there was a whole...

He-Man, and also the Masters of the Universe

Yeah, a lot of us just bring too much baggage with us when we should just be accepting that we're somewhere new.

Timey Wimey Business- a thread for Doctor Who

Thought this must be a joke when I first saw it. How bizarre. I don't have anything against RTD really, we owe him a lot. But as neo-Who goes, he gave me my least favourite era and my least favourite Doctors so other than novelty and a pleasing recognition of prior service, I don't personally...

He-Man, and also the Masters of the Universe

I think it was ultimately left ambiguous, but implied that Fisto may have been her father.

This whole Havoc thing with the powering up of the villains is really interesting. It's a particularly odd take on Beast Man but ultimately I think it all works really well. Really liked Kronis. He and Evil-Lyn made a cute team. I thought his Havoc mouth looked kind of goofy on the toy but in...

Now eventually you are going to have a Comic Book thread on this Comic Book forum, right?

X-Men Legends IS a book that exists! It has "swift cancellation" written all over it, but fingers crossed. I won't be buying every arc but they sure got me this week with Larry Hama Wolverine and Jubilee.

He-Man, and also the Masters of the Universe

It's interesting that both Rev and CGI go with Grayskull and/or associated powers being outlawed. In Revelation it's Randor reacting bitterly to the secret and Adam's death, but in t'other it seems to have been standard policy basically forever. Is this a thing that Rob David is bringing with...

He-Man, and also the Masters of the Universe

David Kaye's Cringer is great. At first I was like "uh, this Cringer is not cringey enough" but he's a fantastic character so I got over it. I feel like Battle Cat has never been this much of an actual character in his own right and I really like him. Skeletor is maybe not terribly interesting...

I haven't had real problems with BBTS in the past, though you do have to be patient. I have a stack of preorders with them and had a couple ship a few weeks ago. However, placed a couple of preorders this week and they were like "you have to order these for your POL instead of immediate shipping...

I'm still enjoying all the X-books, but what a crazy failure on Marvel's part that they couldn't keep Hickman around to tell the rest of that story. It does threaten one's investment. Keeping act one as the status quo for any great period is not terribly appealing. I really wanted to know where...

He-Man, and also the Masters of the Universe

That's true, the opening theme is pretty awful. As expected, it's a chaotic pile of New And Different. I found the first episode reasonably charismatic though, and there seems to be a fair amount of thoughtful world-building going on. My 6yo son enjoyed it. I went in with an open mind and I'm...

    The Terminator Franchise

Given how "divisive" the newer movies are, it's a perfect franchise for Making Better Stories Yourself so it's cool that there's an RPG (tabletop) coming. They ran a very successful Kickstarter a while back which is still taking late pledges, and there are quickstart rules available now.

Amazon is doing WHAT? That is INSANE. And deciding to do that but not with direct ties to the Netflix show is just... like, what? I mean, also yes please, but very what. Interesting (though somewhat spoilery I suppose) article on the new (new) Netflix He-Man...

That would be great. It's a shame they didn't give the exclusive Scare Glow those Grayskull swords, the ones he got are a bit half-assed which is a disappointment for a dude that fancy.

Okay so Trap-Jaw and Tri-Klops are both wearing cloth outfits. Didn't realise that. Andra seems to have a lot more going on than the slide show suggested as well. Mer-Man in particular looks like he just stepped out of the TV. Teela doesn't look fantastic though.

I was too lazy to write it all up so comprehensively! That horny dude is this guy. He was in one episode, I have no idea why they decided to make a figure. https://he-man.fandom.com/wiki/Kol_Darr

And Origins. Loving that He-Man head. I usually don't dig a vintage-style bonce for He-Man but Origins is changing my mind.

He-Man, and also the Masters of the Universe

More pics of upcoming 'Verse. I could not be happier with the Revelation stuff, though I'd have preferred a post-classic MAA over classic Teela, and the continuing absence of Orko is a bummer. Trap-Jaw, Tri-Klops and Merman are just great, although it seems like it would have been easy to make...

He-Man, and also the Masters of the Universe

Lots of interesting news out of Mattel's Powercon panel. Upcoming Masterverse includes POP, Revelation figures for classic Teela, Mer-Man, deluxe Trap-Jaw and Tri-Klops. Origins reveals include Anti-Eternia He-Man, Clawful, mini-comic Trap-Jaw, deluxe Flyiing Fists and Terror Claws, Stridor...
