    Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

It's the triple whammy of disregarding the existing design, for a very silly caricature, while all the other returning characters look the same as before. It's all rather "Homer Simpson in Police Cops"-y.

    Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

I'm usually all for breaking away from G1 references, but swapping Wheeljack's cool light up ears and segmented mouthplate for giant nerd glasses is just hilariously bad.

Just some Shatter and Dropkick appreciation, since we're starting to see the RotB designs.

Why do people only use the "Like" emoji but not the faces?

Can you even use them on mobile? *tries holding the like button instead of just tapping it* 🤦‍♂️

    Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

Three different factions and the return to Bayhem sounds like a giant mess, but I love that somehow Stratosphere is involved. Like, it was neat how Shatter and Dropkick were loosely inspired by Movieverse toyline characters, Strat carrying on that tradition is pretty fun.

    Transformers Legacy toyline

Prime Thundertron? That random pirate lion? Wha? (I mean I guess Lio Convoy's gotta be repainted into somebody, but still what a strange choice) G2 Grimlock, finally! It's been kinda insane seeing a zillion Grimlock toys somehow avoid a simple blue repaint.

    Andor - streaming on Disney+

This show has really been quite amazing. No gratuitous references, no flashiness with space wizards and crazy aliens, no mystery boxes or subverting expectations, but instead solid writing and spectacular performances. Disney Star Wars has felt reactionary in the worst ways, but Andor feels like...

    Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

Battletrap's lovely. Got that offscreen-toy vibe to him where the designer clearly went "movieverse is neat but holy jive we need to make something other than a silver showroom car." Truck mode looks kinda janky with those pegs sticking out the sides, though. Airrazor... is Airrazor. Like I...

    Disappointing Yellowing Mystery

Excikaiser used a plastic whitening gel to de-yellow a couple figures, but within a month they've started to yellow again. Tungg's been having miserable luck with this issue, reporting seven different figures (including a Power Rangers Dino Fury toy) with absolutely horrendous yellowing...

It's kinda surprising that the Maximals get "scary" animals like hammerheads and squids. On the other hand, the size difference between Cybershark and Clawjaw is giving me serious "superhero and his young ward" vibes. "EEEEEEVIIILLLLL!" And now that I've got Spongebob on the brain:

    Andor - streaming on Disney+

8 episodes in: no Mos Vespa gang, no Trenchcoat Leia, no emarassing cringe, but instead a willingness to let the characters just talk. I dunno if that really qualifies as "good", but it is hugging refreshing. On a more substantive level, while Star Wars superficially is an epic of larger than...

Tales of the Jedi - streaming on Disney+

Between this and Andor, I'm a happy Star Wars fan again! (Andor turned out to be a nice palate cleanser before diving back to more popular characters)

    Ninja Turtles - Cowabunga!

I must admit I don't have much of a connection to Muckman and Joe Eyeball, but this is a beautiful toy. Gross, but beautiful.

Buzzworthy Bumblebee - the "everything goes" toyline

Man, Hatchtet is horribly disappointing. Maybe hopefully the render is really off and the final toy has actual shoulders AND a more detailed head AND hides that back kibble better... but I kinda doubt it. The Dreads are some of my favorite Movieverse designs, but Studio Series really dropped...
