Tell Your Tale Discussion Thread-Salute Our Shorts

I didn't really like the G4 thing of "your job is your destiny". I realize that it was supposed to be aspirational rather than realistic, to inspire young girls to try for their dreams. Like, if try you might not succeed, but if you don't try you definitely won't succeed. I get it. But all...

Tell Your Tale Discussion Thread-Salute Our Shorts

My impression was that she owned the cart. Mostly from the scene where Sprout is marching his mob down the street and the smoothie cart tips over, which I took to symbolize the diminishing of Sunny's message of hope / friendship. But she could just be an employee, they never really say. Yeah...

    Zipp Storm Thread

Sadly G2 didn't have Applejack. The closest pony would be Bright Bramley, who was orange and had an apple symbol. But apples are pretty common as a pony symbol so I'm sure that was unintentional. From what I heard, the Kenner employees (who had just had their company bought up by Hasbro)...

Wow, this one packed a lot in five minutes! One of my favorite episodes.

    Zipp Storm Thread

She's not really much like Rainbow Dash IMO, aside from both of them being athletic. Zipp is an analytical introvert, RD is a rash extrovert. Pipp is more like Rainbow Dash. She loves attention, she's self-confident, she has her own fan club, and she wants to be recognized as the best at what...

    Generation 5

Yeah, it came out a little before the movie, I had the ponies from that set lined up to watch it with me, lol. Maybe they wanted to avoid spoilers. Amazing mane quality on the 6" G5s. It's sooo silky and it holds its shape well, like G1 hair.

I wasn't a fan of the plot, but the paint-spattered backgrounds during the song and the animation when the lamp lit up were genuinely pretty. The diver pony being named Neptune was great, as he's not only the god of the sea but also the god of horses. I'm kind of fascinated by the interplay...

"My Little Pony: Make Your Mark" ...............................(SPOILERS)

I thought the implication was the dragon's egg was washed ashore like a coconut. Must have a tough shell to survive the ocean waves! I love that! They could've had Sunny couch-surfing at Hitch's place in the meantime, and the pegasus Royal Family too (while they get into their subjects' good...

    Sunny Starscout Appreciation Thread

I don't think Sunny's dad built the lighthouse because it's on the travel posters in the old hot air balloon station in Zephyr Heights. It's possible he built the table. But I do like the idea that the lighthouse was built to house the crystals. Maybe the crystal came with the lighthouse, but...

"My Little Pony: Make Your Mark" ...............................(SPOILERS)

LOL, I love the Sprout comic! And yeah, the animation was just fine a lot of the time. It also makes me wonder if the problem might be Hasbro not providing a big enough budget. It takes time to render complicated CGI models, time that has to be paid for. Well, here's what I meant about Posey...

"My Little Pony: Make Your Mark" ...............................(SPOILERS)

I'm gonna be lazy and just copy and paste what I wrote on my pony blog, here we goooo! 1. Animation - Kind of janky. There are parts that look fine and parts where ponies will suddenly move WAY too fast or their physics will be off. Hopefully this is just due to growing pains. (The CGI models...

    Generation 5

Regarding the game Anyway, yeah, definitely a kids game, which is fine. The controls did feel great, like it was very satisfying making Sunny run around and jump. Anyone know how to switch between characters after unlocking them?

Get My Pippsqueaks in Here; It's the Pipp Petals Thread

Pipp was my favorite from the movie, even though plot-wise she doesn't do that much. Her relationship with her mom and Zipp is just so good and fraught. Like, when she gives that put-upon sigh and eyeroll in the alley, that was such a realistic portrayal of sisterhood. She was such an...

Friendship is Plastic: MLP toy thread

An upcoming set . . . If they match the prototypes, they'll include the blaze on Hitch's nose and gradients on Hitch and Sunny's legs. They have a normal cutie mark on their other side, and the 3D one is removable. I think narratively this will tie-in to the idea of a pony's luminescence. And...

Friendship is Plastic: MLP toy thread

Great choice! Izzy's so pretty and the hair quality on the 6" G5s is SO good. I'm pretty picky about pony hair, and imo the hair on the 6" ponies is as good as G1 hair. So silky, so smooth.

Yes, hello, I'm just going to pat myself on the back for correctly guessing that the purple baby pony was Seashell when I saw her in a crowd scene in "Sisters Take Flight."
