The latter day MiniCons did certainky feel more like Micromasters than MiniCons. I got that old 10 pack (the one with figures like Boltflash and Bodyblock). The PPC ones were really good, barring the potential risk of clesr plastic. The battle axe MiniCon was my favourite.

It is a real shame that both Trpticon and Omega takes massive jumps from Metro/Max. Plus, Scorponok/Black Zarak is undeniably superior. Tighter ratchets, ankle tilts, and just generally chunkier.

How the TR Fort Max designers went with the old mistransformed not-City mode over Max’s actual fortress mode boggles the mind. I snagged the encore when it was still ‘reasonably’ priced. Awesome figure.

So long as they don’t try to overcomplicate the transformation for the sake of toon accuracy. Which is what (other than the MP44 price) killed that mp for me. The truck and bot look toon accurate, but getting from one to the other is not fun. Especially when compared to mp10.
