    Star Trek General Discussion

The Fall of Cardassia: 102 "Past Prologue" (We see that some Bajorans aren't ready to let the war go. We meet Garak, the Cardassian in exile.) 118 "Duet" (A guilt-ridden Cardassian offers himself up to Bajoran justice.) 205 "Cardassians" (A Cardassian child left behind on Bajor is unwillingly...

    Star Trek General Discussion

I did this on the old forum and just stumbled across it in my old notes and thought it should be preserved here too: There are actually several distinct arcs running through DS9: The Bajoran reconstruction/religion: 101 "Emissary" (We see DS9 and Bajor in ruins, encounter the Orbs, the...

    Obi-Wan Kenobi - streaming on Disney+

Note that the timeline in this last ep was absolutely played with for pacing and dramatic effect; That's really the only real flaw of this series, I feel; the material is there, but it's all compressed to fit into six episodes when it really could've used at least twice as many.

    Anime

I'm waiting to see if a dub comes along (since it's one of those shows where the characters are explicitly speaking English in-universe).

Maybe it's just the photography, but I like the mold better on Minerva than on Elita.

    Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

"The Cage" is basically what the writers are citing for why Pike is so upbeat and cheerful when we see him in Discovery (when Hunter's version was battling nihilism and planning to resign from Starfleet) --his experiences on Talos IV were always intended to give him a new lease on life...

    Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

Yeah, "The Cage" (in which Pike visits Talos IV) was intended to be the first episode, but the network didn't like it and sent in notes (notably forcing a choice between "the alien" or "the woman," but not both). Normally at this point, the original pilot would've been scrapped, becoming nothing...

Not my cabbages! - Avatar: The Last Airbender / The Legend of Korra Thread

I feel like there should be a Tenzin-focused story between Zuko and Korra, just because of the Cycle (Earth, Fire, Air, Water).

Ezra Miller is somehow The Flash in the DCEU

They've sunk too much money into this movie to not release it, but Ezra's made themselves thoroughly toxic at this point. Someone must be looking into digitally replacing them with Grant Gustin.

(Possible) Transformers Collaborative Thread - Bandai and Takara Team-Up?

I guess maybe Takara could convince Bandai to do the White Base in purple as the Decepticon warship Griffin. . .

    Obi-Wan Kenobi - streaming on Disney+

If I had a credit for every time one of those windows shattered and a Jedi was the only thing stopping that facility from flooding, I'd have two credits, which doesn't sound like a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice.

Transformers Collaborative (Transformers X Star Wars: The Mandalorian)

Which means it should theoretically be possible to do a head-swap and repaint, if one could find a proper-sized head. (Not Beachcomber, 'cause he'd never work with the military, but maybe one of the Sector Seven buggies.)

    Obi-Wan Kenobi - streaming on Disney+

The Inquisitors didn't really exist before the Empire (nothing to Inquire about). Notably, they've existed as a concept since the 90s; High Inquisitor Tremayne first appeared in Galaxy Guide 9 back in 1993. As for letting Kenobi go, remember that Vader still holds Anakin's title of Biggest...

    Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

I loved Spock/T'Pring's line about "our clearly different mannerisms" as they were both standing side-by-side with the exact same posture. Also, people keep talking about how the show will handle Pike's impending accident --that's ten years away. How long do you think this show's going to run?

    Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

Kirk was explicitly described by Roddenberry as a West Point Grad, so yeah, an Officer's Officer. Picard was definitely the Diplomat. Sisko was the Dad. The first and last things we see him doing in his series involve being a literal father, and that carries over into both his command style...
