I'm happy with the blue Swoop as my only exposure to him is really the cartoon. Oddly, that doesn't apply as strongly to Slag/Slug, for whom I'm fine with a black robot mode head (although red isn't a dealbreaker). I guess blue just offers nice contrast with the silver and gold, and the red crest.

It's pretty wild they went with Mindwipe. Most customs I've seen do a great job using Blot; seems like it wouldn't have been too difficult to replace the combiner peg with a compartment and Titan Master neck socket.

It's pretty stunning that they did THREE reasonably distinct roof-chest/hood-leg bots competently (Wheeljack, Sunstreaker, Runamuck) and then decided to go in this... direction with Tracks. So much of the design didn't need to be as complicated as they made it.

I think that's a perfect summation actually. All the problems come in when it's time to actually handle the thing. Pictures can expose (or downplay) the awkward hollowness of the torso, but the real iffy experience is in transforming the thing back and forth and then trying to pose it.

Part of why it would've been a decent move to just line him up in the "minimal redeco and just replace clear with opaque" subline. Just run the mold again with some color/paint changes rather than spend anything on a new mold. Between the opportunity to tweak the leg panels (or just get luckier...
