The 3rd Party Toy Picture thread

I think I'd be fine with this actually. Have no need for the lights and such, but it looks great overall (even before unluckiness' great paint work). Seems hefty, and will be big enough vs the mainline to "feel" like a citybot. Nothing's going to really be in scale anyway, short of something...

Favorite scenes in TF media (tv, movies, comics, games) (40th)

Arrival to Earth will always define the live-action movies for me. Also, this: I'd grown a bit cynical and disconnected from the still-enjoyable MTMTE stories at the time, but this had me all misty. It's always striking when a too-cool-for-school characters (cast) who are sassing and quipping...

Robots in Disguise (2001) Appreciation Thread

I mean, the drop test failure simply happening at all already makes it "at least one contributor" to the release being scuttled. I am fascinated by how drop tests also test the packaged toy. Always thought it was just the toy itself. But this makes sense. Still baffled by the choice to go...

    Transformers Legacy toyline

I do remember seeing a Dinoking box set in one of those listings leaks. I've held out for that, only getting Snarl and Slag (favorites and the better looking ones) and Skarr to hang out with POTP Slash. Wouldn't be surprised if third-party shells of varying quality popped up afterward.

Maybe it'll be a two-pack. Skyquake and one of the Predators. Sigh, now I want a Machine Wars Starscream too, and I can't even decide which I'd rather have if I could just get one. (And then there's Doubledealer as Stalker...)

In the midst of all this I'm still waiting for a new Cryotek and G1 Skyquake out of the relevant Legacy molds.

Or go older-school and just use approximate names. Scraphook, Tow-Line, and, uh, Sinkertwin. Hell with it. Hookblast, Lineblast, Sinkerblast.

I guess part of that rests on what constitutes "concrete" plans -- are they more or less concrete prior to being entered into a system via these codes? They may have had a long-term desire to release Fort Max, and may have been discussing it internally, but something of that literal magnitude...

Ah, I'd forgotten that! Right, right. My kingdom for another capsule with Wreckers Aileron, Ricochet (from SS86 Jazz), and Thunder Clash.

I wouldn't be opposed to that if the plastic were better than Tow-Line's (my copy, at least). But man. I would love an out-of-left-field Dark Energon Knock Out lumped in with the Mayhems.

I like avoiding partsforming where feasible. The handfootguns, fine, but integrate whatever else can be. I hope we don't have to get Commander class torsos every time here.

One favorite thing from each era (or line, or year) of Transformers

Not to steal any thunder from tec, who's been doing great with the fun 40-year retrospective threads, but with the few minutes I have to myself this week I'm waxing a little nostalgic. And we can always use a bit more positivity about things (idk about you, but I'd love some), so here goes...

Best and worst colors on a Transformer (40th)

Absolute agreement. I meant to go back and add Cryotek, but I figured I'd dumped enough pics in one go, haha. Razorclaw is just one of those things Universe 1.0 was so good at. A mold I was fond of, and a great color scheme. In that sense, there's something cool about the wildness of...

    Transformers Legacy toyline

I guess we have been having a good run of late. Legacy, while itself not a very impressive or novel name, is at least new to TF toylines, and turned into Legacy ___ , which is also new, and follow in the spirit of the toyline. Siege, Earthrise, and Kingdom were neat, although the trilogy being...

    Transformers Legacy toyline

They have REALLY got to get some new damn names for these toylines. I'm very intrigued about the possibilities, and I suppose the old combiners are indeed due a fuller redo by now. But a lot of my eagerness for this line rests on how much these things will cost by this time next year, and...

I'm just over here eating popcorn and enjoying the deluge of sweet, sweet nostalgia from all this packaging. I think this post-RID2001/Universe 1.0 space is what I want Generations Selects to really turn into. Sure, keep the predictable "they have this mold, they'll probably get its Diaclone...
