Gobots and Machine Robo News & Discussion

So this showed up on BBTS I wonder if Action Toys lost the license? Also, has anyone bought Megahouse figures before? How is the quality? I don't like to pass up new Machine Robo/Gobot offerings, but when it's a character I have several iterations of, it's hard to drop that kind of money. Now...

I mean, I would assume so, too, but there's been times in the past when the obvious stuff didn't happen for reasons. (Cyberverse Spark Armor Ratchet into Ironhide would have scratched the small scale itch for me if it had happened, for instance, but it didn't.) Then, there are my more...

I don't know, I suppose there's a point of no return when they are designing these things, but I would think that if your design hits that budget wall for its intended size class while it's still in a sub-par state, you either find a way to work it up a size class and improve it, or shelve it...

    The Random Transformers Image Thread

You'd have to have the John Deere green set, Case red set, and Agco-Allis orange set just for starters. Then, there's all the lesser brands...this could be a redeco gold mine for Hasbro. Especially if they could partner with Ertl somehow...

I would use brake cleaner. It usually comes with a straw, and the stuff kills almost any wasps near-instantly.

    The Random Transformers Image Thread

The only anime I ever saw where the main character got hit by a truck was Excel Saga. Now I want to see Megatron fawning over Il Palazzo. Also, I suppose Starscream could make an acceptable Hyatt stand-in. Also, also, Optimus with a Kabapu moustache. That is all.

I feel like the nose of the car mode is either mistransformed or missing a piece. It doesn't look right, even compared to the rest of the car mode itself, and definitely not the original. If this really is the finished product, someone ought to be reprimanded for an incomplete job.

    Shattered Glass Thread

We've got Legacy Beasts followed by Velocitron at Walmart, Buzzworthy at Target, and Shattered Glass at Hasbro, besides Selects. We know these lines exist to get figures out that normally wouldn't get a slot in the main line. It does seem like there is no rhyme or reason to some of it, but at...

Hasbro officially announces the "Selfie Series" toyline

It's an intriguing idea, but for GI Joe, they need to have either a Greenshirt/Grunt body option or (my preference) a Cobra Trooper body option. Snake Eyes is too unique a character to just slap someone's head on and call it a day. I would be interested to see if/how they might apply this...

The addition of the Pteraxodon redeco would indicate Ravage is at least a possibility with Soundwave. Guess we gotta wait and see. I would almost prefer Ratbat/Batrat, though. It's a more scarce mold, and better than the newest Ravage, IMO.

The red symbol is a bit weird, but I can easily handwave it away to make this regular Flamewar. By the description blurb, it seems like Flamewar is Flamewar in any universe, anyway.

Random Thoughts From Out of Nowhere

You know you are a child of the 80s when you are playing Gobots with your almost-4-year-old son, you pick up your favorite helicopter Gobot (Flip-Top), and even though its the wrong type of helicopter, the Airwolf theme song immediately starts playing in your head. ...and you know he's your son...

    Legacy Line Wish List

I don't think anyone said Devcon yet? Also, how about the Decepticon transport drones and Warriors from War Dawn? Seems like something we haven't seen in any toy form, yet.

Random Thoughts From Out of Nowhere

Literally the only thing I miss about living in a bigger city (Omaha, NE) is the variety of stores and shops within a reasonable radius. I used to have Krypton Comics where I got comics and anime cds (and later, dvds), Dragons Lair where they had anime vhs rental (dating myself, I guess), a shop...

    Any point in keeping packaging?

I've always planned to scan or photograph all the old packaging I've accumulated before finally getting rid of it for just that reason. That said, as CoffeeHorse pointed out, there are high-quality scans of most of those packages out there. And, I still cut out and/or flatten the more...

    Any point in keeping packaging?

Personally, I would suggest, if you have any kind of vintage toy store in your area, I would take some of the older stuff and see if they would make you an offer for it. It might be worth something to them, and getting some money for it is better than throwing it away and getting nothing.
