He-Man, and also the Masters of the Universe

It's available on DVD - at least that's how I got it. I don't think there's a blu-ray... I want to say it's one of the "print on demand DVD" things like Centurions.

What happened to my Filmation He-man and She-ra???

Softened it for the "normies"? isn't that what you were just complaining about with the newer series?

What happened to my Filmation He-man and She-ra???

Considering I'm over 40, I'd hope I was there. Unless someone invented cryogenics and somehow lost the technology after unfreezing me. Or created a time warp portal. Honestly it sounds like YOU weren't there if you weren't aware of the actual original He-Man....

He-Man, and also the Masters of the Universe

I've been meaning to rewatch the 200X series, but somehow never got around to it. And I wonder if that sequel to Revelations is still going to happen, given the death of the CGI series - though if it counts as a new series, it's less likely to fall afoul of being killed for the sake of contract...

What happened to my Filmation He-man and She-ra???

If you want to talk concepts, I wonder how much was inspired by Thundarr? I mean if we're gonna go "older is better" this came out before He-Man, and that haircut is suspiciously similar. if we're going to write Thundarr off because of the brand, THIS is the original He-Man (literally, it's...

Why was there a lack of fanfare for the 20th anniversary of a Beast Wars and could have this have caused Primal to win the prime fan vote?

You know, if they had made the techno-organic bodies immune to spark removal, that would have removed a lot of the justification problems with "why technoorganicism other than because we said". It would turn it into a "Never again" kind of thing. Their beast modes hiding the spark signature...

    The Random Image Thread

With music by Powerwolf. (Or Beast in Black given the style it suggests, but if we're adding in vampires, it seems to fall squarely into Powerwolf territory.)

    Star Trek General Discussion

Was catching up on some Kurtzgesagt videos, and seems like the Hobus supernova idea does have a grain of truth at its core: If a star close enough to Romulus blew, It basically really would wipe out life for light years around. Not the galaxy(without subspace magic), but evacuation of...

    Star Trek General Discussion

Looks like Discovery's wrapping up too. With that and Picard tieing off, I wonder if they're finally going to do that Section 31 show they were talking about doing a few years ago, or just going to stick with what's running(which would be fine by me)...

Why was there a lack of fanfare for the 20th anniversary of a Beast Wars and could have this have caused Primal to win the prime fan vote?

What if Beast Machines is actually pretty decent, if you take it on its own? On a more serious note, on thinking about it doesn't the Prime -> RID15 handoff really seem like the same level of difference as the BW -> BM one? There's about the same amount of stuff that doesn't line up that well...

Gotta Catch 'Em All! - Pokémon Thread

Maybe they'll be available via the DLC later - everything in Sword and Shield was gettable later except shinies, and the paradox forms are mroe akin to regional forms, which have yet to be considered seperate... and the pokemon in question were just legendaries, not mythicals.

The Twit destroying Twitter is a Twaitor

Early 1900s: "We'll automate all the soul-crushing work so everyone can make writing, art, and music!" 2020s: "We'll automate all the writing, art and music so everyone can do all the soul-crushing work!"

Why was there a lack of fanfare for the 20th anniversary of a Beast Wars and could have this have caused Primal to win the prime fan vote?

I still think Optimus Pride would have been a more fitting name considering how other Western Beast Wars names went. Drawing on a blank on what a fitting Optimus-style rename for Big Convoy would have been, though. (And I actually kind of prefer the Ultra Mammoth repaint there, honestly...

Why was there a lack of fanfare for the 20th anniversary of a Beast Wars and could have this have caused Primal to win the prime fan vote?

Pretty sure the Ark's name also came from the comics originally. And the Vok were intended to be related to the Swarm from the G2 comics IIRC, though that never made it into the actual show. It did make it into supplementary material like the 3H comics much later.

    AI don't trust techbros

The funny thing is AI is a misnomer, as there's nothing intelligent about it yet, but because it gets called such and no one argues against it, people assume it's like Data in TNG, or will be soon. An example conversation with the Bing "AI" based on the supposedly amazing ChatGPT(spoilered...

He-Man, and also the Masters of the Universe

ON top of that, Netflix contracts don't pay out the full salary until the 3rd production season. That's why a lot of things last only 1 or 2 seasons, as the way it all works out they have to pay more each season, so they only do it for things they really make bank on. It's part of why I was...

    Star Trek: Picard

On the transporter talk, the episode of TNG where Barclay saw things during the transport makes things even messier in that regard. it's one of those technologies you really do need to take the MST3k mantra to, as unsatisfying as that sounds. Especially given other uses, like when they used it...
