Early slashers were more about suspense. Later slashers leaned more into blood and gore. Or violent comedy (which often overlaps with blood and gore), like later Nightmare on Elm Street or the Leprechaun movies.
I remember far more quotes from 8-Bit Theater than I really should considering it ended about 13 years ago.

I don't regret watching Evangelion, but it's not something I've ever felt any desire to watch again. Couldn't be bothered to keep up with Rebuild either.

People want show accuracy in these things. BW was already generally pretty toy-accurate aside from some added details and proportion fudging. This is the logical outcome.
He'll never take the job because he'd have to actually stay in DC rather than flit around the country for rallies and other ego-stroking. Won't stop him from trying to play the victim over not getting it, though.
