If anything, it does kinda make him look like he's wearing them like how most Starscreams typically wear their null rays on the sides of their shoulders.

Not sure how I feel about the lighter colors. Under that lighting he looks more light gray than light black, at least in the first pic. Also the border-less Autobot symbol looks kinda fuzzy, but that could just be the picture quality.
