i see. The only specifically Takara branded Thomas and friends stuff I see are either tiny diecast trains or working traintrack sets basically the kiddy version of the adult hobbyist train sets. The rest is basically regular Mattel stuff with a sticker somewhere on the box
IIRC Mattel doesn’t have an specific Japanese branch and has an Asia-Pacific branch instead that is a different company operating under their name like Bandai America or Hasbro Asia.
Might also be they only own the Thomas rights in certain territories or for certain product categories
New DBZ movie looks like a cutscene from Kakarot which isn't really my cup of tea after Broly's artstyle.
Nice to see they remembered non-Goku non-Vegeta people exist. Red Ribbon Army makes me think that this is a ploy to bring back Cell
IIRC, Max Factory has had a couple instances of jumping the gun with prototypes that haven't been approved by the IP holders which is slightly better than being lost in the labyrinthine inner workings of Bandai.
Fandom speculation is that it's a way to gauge interest and that makes sense for popular but niche dudes like say, the Ginyu Force, but not for secondary main protagonist status figures like Metalgarurumon. IIRC the Cure ones didn't perform to Bandai's expectations. I don't know what they were...
Look man, it’s all we got to work with. Japanese toy companies show prototypes that never go anywhere at trade shows all the time. I believe it took Bandai a decade to release some of the figuarts that they revealed at toy shows and those might actually be new molds of the same characters. IIRC...
DLC for Super Robot Wars was kinda disappointing. Shinkalion was kinda cool and Dancouga is always neat but Voltes V really should have been in the base game. Was hoping for some real heavy hitters in the lineup. Votoms and Sakura Wars are eh. They have robots sure but they're not really in line...
IIRC it was in an awkward place between generations and MP in terms of price and design so got shelved until they can figure out what to do with it.
