I would imagine that the whole thing simply shattered into a million tiny pieces since, despite being a fairly solid figure, it's still pretty heavy. All that weight combined with gravity and a hard floor would be a disaster waiting to happen.

It's funny. We're having this conversation in this thread, while over in the "Post pics of..." thread do I make this post comparing the Titan Fort Max mold to the original, as if to illustrate (or, perhaps, even rebuke) some of the points made in this thread.
It's all because that original Metroplex Titan toy was never very good to begin with, focusing more hollowly (pun intended) on being "The Tallest Transformer Ever!" than being an actually good figure.
Other noteworthy things I've worked on in recent years, for anyone interested.

In the meantime, I'm still content with Encore Fort Max. I only got the Grand Max version of the TR/Legends mold, and the original G1 mold is still miles better in several aspects.
