G1 Transformers Size, Power, and Mass

The first-draft script for the movie was VERY unlike the movie we ultimately got. It went through many script revisions.

    Masterforce is a Sentai Show?!

Who were all humans instead, and therefore treated the gimmick differently from how it was done in The Headmasters. The cartoon never so much as even hinted that Black Zarak was also a Headmaster. Like I said, it took a couple of in-battle beheadings to get his noggin off its body, since it...

Whatever happened to that Speedia Hot Rod?

Yeah, I figured it was either "the overpriced one at the relatively-local toy shop I can just drive to" or "the scalper prices on eBay combined with overseas shipping costs".

That tracks. The Classics comics treated all of those toys as upgraded bodies for the Marvel G1 versions of the characters.

Whatever happened to that Speedia Hot Rod?

I literally just picked up Galaxy Shuttle today from the one place in town that actually had it, a collector shop across town that had only one left and at roughly double the price of retail.

    Masterforce is a Sentai Show?!

That scar was something that the toy designers came up with. Black Zarak's smaller Headmaster form was never seen onscreen in the Masterforce cartoon. He got decapitated a few times, but the cartoon never actually treated him like a proper Headmaster. So whenever he did get decapitated, the...

G1 Transformers Size, Power, and Mass

That's not entirely true. Galvatron was always going to be the upgraded version of Megatron, as evidenced by the first-draft script for TFTM being written before the first episode of the cartoon had even aired. The toy bio was simply written to not allude to his true identity so as to not spoil...

    Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

This is par for the course for the live action movies, unfortunately. If you're not a sleek street vehicle, you get no snazzy paint job. Instead, you get variations of gray, tan, brown, and other muted color shades.

    Masterforce is a Sentai Show?!

He was, but his personality had been so neutered by Devil Zed's brainwashing that all traces of his original scheming/ambitious personality from The Headmasters were practically nonexistent. And he really wasn't in the series for all that long to make much of an impression, character-wise...

    Masterforce is a Sentai Show?!

It also doesn't help that every subtitled release of The Headmasters, both official and unofficial, has had a painfully mediocre translation full of mistakes or just straight-up inaccurate translations.

Superman & Lois - CW TV series

Season 3 started up two weeks ago and Jon's new actor is... well, he's kinda got the personality down, but he's also kinda being written as a background character rather than having his own focal plot threads. Or at least, so far. He also only vaguely looks like the first actor, so it's gonna...

Robots in Disguise (2001) Appreciation Thread

While I can't see them eliminating the "break apart into armor" aspect for the combination, they could at least try to make Magnus transform from truck to robot as one solid figure, rather than having to disconnect and reconnect his legs for the truck/robot transformation. This is what Takara...

The toy and packaging variation oddity, mystery and discovery thread

Found something else. Transformers: The Ultimate Guide (2004) also used the single-word "Spychanger" spelling, and gave its own separate sections to the Spychangers and to the Basic class Ultra Magnus toy, the latter of which was also not called a Spychanger:

The toy and packaging variation oddity, mystery and discovery thread

Yeah, I meant mold-wise rather than character-wise. Further helping the case of the X-Brawn and Scourge molds was their being designed to the exact scale of the other Spychangers, unlike the still larger Optimus and Magnus molds.

The toy and packaging variation oddity, mystery and discovery thread

Though it's not illustrated in this thread, Nevermore's done a lot of research on the subject of Spychangers, revealing that the proper spelling of the name is indeed the single-worded "Spychanger", rather than the two-worded "Spy Changer" that popped up a few times in the 2000s and, thanks to...
