Incredibly helpfully, the Sunbow scale chart seems to have both Op and Magnus at the same height (which is fudged anyway because the chart has them drawn in 3/4 view). WFC Magnus is a bit shorter than SS86 Grim, basically between him and Op in height. I'm fine with the (City) Commander class...

    Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

I agree. A big part of that is also just how intimate the scale was. One central character with a meaningful emotional journey, which they were able to parlay into a lovely Iron Giant-ish arc with Bumblebee (aside: I'm weirded out by how little the full name is used in ROTB, although it's cute...

    The Repaint Concept Thread

Be neat if you could just swap out the pizza van light for the antenna stuff Tow-Line had (I'm not sure if this uses a 5mm peg or a thin tab). Then again, oddly enough, the Earthrise mold would be a good fit too considering Tow-Line also had the sled thing. But this robot mode feels lankier...

Post Pictures of your Transformers, Let's see 40 years worth of Transformers!

It's really neat to see the backgrounds against the old-school wood cabinet aesthetic. The contrast is charming.

Iirc SS86 Grimlock is about a head (and shoulders) taller than Earthrise Op, so this works for me. Magnus doesn't really need to be bigger than that, for my tastes (I forget the actual scale chart detail).

    Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

I think Bumblebee accomplished all that so well, for me personally, that I managed to go into this not even thinking about that. But I can certainly understand the vibe of waiting anxiously for the other shoe to drop and Bay writing to pop out from behind a corner and gross up the movie. I...

    Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

Part of me does wonder at why, because while I enjoyed it a lot it didn't seem like a really world-changing, thrilling thing to keep seeing again or tell friends to go see. But if you're already looking to go see a movie, it's a good solid choice and a comfy rewatch, so that much I get. Either...

    Shattered Glass Thread

Yeah, I mean, isn't that what a hue shift is? And even if that's semantics, this before and after seems far enough to count.

It's a higher price point, so the budget could go toward bigger chunks of plastic OR more smaller chunks of plastic, or a balance of both. Since WFC, they're only as big as whatever internal scale they're following calls for. Once that's hit, the budget goes toward adding other stuff to round...

Probably no more than people needed Arcee in Kingdom, but there are fewer options for package refreshes at this scale. And they're already repacking, say, Blitzwing.

Small semantic bit here. I think "why you would expect" is more apt for this than "why you would WANT". It makes sense to want an extra feature (more than it does to expect them to break the pattern). But the thing is, this extra feature would not PRECLUDE a "slavishly media accurate" altmode...

Yeah, it's only the "same" in that "it's Ultra Magnus" and only relevant here for having an inner white robot. And calling that "four times" glosses over the fact that those four are essentially the same thing released with paint differences four times (or sure, three Sieges and a retool) rather...

I'm in for Magnus, despite my traditional preference for having the inner robot. Kinda bummed that we didn't get a similar "smaller robot and super mode" as we've gotten for Armada Prime; this seems like it would've been doable at this price point (and frankly I thought that was the point of...

What a wild batch this year. Powerlinx Hot Shot: definite get, despite it almost assuredly being pricey. I really wish they'd just done him as a Selects, maybe with Jolt (a proper YELLOW Jolt, damn it) thrown in like Nightstick was for Artfire, rather than the usual "let's pretend blast...

I wish they'd made Jolt yellow. Ah, well, maybe Takara will make it into a campaign item, but... That's so much extra work. For Thrust, maybe a Starscream style body (wings on torso, not legs) with a Conehead, er, head. Maybe some retooling to add a VTOL fan somewhere and/or cover up the chest...

To be fair, even taking that as Tidal Wave, it could be argued that the statement "we need a new Tidal Wave" applies more, not less. I'm still iffy on a Titan class one, but a Commander class would be perfect. (I am kinda tempted to backtrack and get the TR one, but the few I've seen in the...

Still loving that simple but effective mesh backdrop, Vexwing! And damn, yeah, this mold was really good. More revisiting of Classics custom retirees... (shout out to Kyde's old string of digibashes, which I sadly did not have handy as reference for these) And, well, they haven't gotten...
