I pulled mine out a few days ago, but due to an unfortunate pile up of illness, crazy work goings-on, working on a new house we're trying to get moved into, and a carting a 14 year old around to various activities, we haven't gotten much decorating done
Seems like "Whatever That Is " season comes earlier every year. Heck, we're barely passed "Who in the What Now?" and the stores already have Polo-Stick-Grim-Reaper-on-a-Skeleton-Pony decorations on the shelves.
Ever since the events chronicled in the historical document Battle of the Rock Lords, there's been a lot of cross-cultural exchange of ideas between Gobotron and Quartex.
They seem to be tantalizingly close to being able to make one. The "jetpack" section opens up, and it sure looks like the twin hulls of the battleship portion are dual-hinged just like the full size version, but I don't see anything on any of the pieces that would seem to be connection points.
That Grimceptor is *chef's kiss*.
And there's no way that that bot, second from the right on the top row, isn't Gobots Road Ranger hiding out amongst the Autobots.
Right? I'm resigned to the fact that they won't transform into a Core Class Tidal Wave (sad trombone) but it'd be nice if they did something other than connect to Megatron.
Can you imagine if Siege had gone whole-hog on this idea? A whole line of newly made-up alt modes that fit in with the general sleek, rounded Cybertronian aesthetic as seen in More than Meets the Eye, but turning into exactly the G1 bots, complete with Earth kibble? A Siege Optimus that goes...
There's a special insane charm about the G1 Episode 1 characters that transform from Sci-Fi vehicles into robots that somehow already have Earth mode kibble that I absolutely love and can't believe we've actually gotten in real, plastic form, and I'm happily buying them.
But for a future...
