Yeah, the proportions are better, but even at the concept stage he's made of too many right angles. The real-life truck that the toy is based on is actually significantly more Bulkhead shaped than what they ended up with:
I do like the grey better than the black, but not enough to rebuy him, especially with the painted windows. If I ever saw it on deep discount, I could see buying it and Frankenstein-ing together a version with clear windows and grey limbs.
I love Cobra Kai. I think it strikes exactly the right balance of not trying to hard too be serious/realistic while also not trying too hard to be ridiculous/over-the-top. It sways back and forth between the two without feeling forced.
I never did like it when they released Same-Character-Slightly-Different-Decos, like here or some of the Netflix releases. Just use green plastic instead of red and give us Tap-Out or something.
I have to admit, I didn't really care for the "Bayformers" aesthetic overall, but I like these designs. Kind of wish this had been the direction all along.
That's what I was hoping for. I read the TFW rumors posts occasionally, but hadn't seen it for a while so I hadn't heard any of this new stuff. The TFW leakers have been pretty spot-on, so that gives me hope for more robo-skeletons.
