So, turns out these are not Premium Finish figures, but are instead part of a new separate line called Beast Wars VS. They will also be accompanied by selected episodes of the cartoon being rebroadcast in Japan, under the new title of "Beast Wars Again".

Word has it that they are going to be sold in vintage Japanese Beast Wars-styled packaging in homage to the original two-pack of the two.

I gasped in gleeful excitement when I saw the reveal pics in the Hasbro Pulse email.

Landfill, Rail Racer, and Ruination are now crying in a corner.

In all fairness, the Energon toyline was largely pretty good. Sure, the Autobot side had a few stinkers early in the line, but things got better later. The Decepticons, meanwhile, pretty much had good toys right out of the gate and all throughout the line.
