I suspect Glavy will just be more blue too, but I'd be in to that, he's not supposed to be as purple as the Kingdom release.
In an ideal world he'd be a bit more slim and have longer legs, but I doubt we are getting a new mould.
I'm a little surprised (genuinely).
I thought the licensed Heat Toys version of this would preclude them licensing Hasbro to make a similar (although probably cheaper) product.
That might be true but it's unlikely that an animated feature will be predicted to have nearly the box office and therefore merch shifts that a live action one will by retailers.
Again, we'll see, but I think people in this thread people are papering over the cracks a little bit because of one...
The movie line shipped - that's a one off (or at least occassional factor yoy. If that accounts for 40% of sales then the line being up 25% isn't actually all that good and there would be a signifcant drop next year. We'll just have to see.
The concept of what this line is seems a bit wooly to me.
Are they supposed to be a celebration of the original comic for the G1 anniversary, or is IDW in scope? Will they all get original little accessories or just some? It all just seems a bit thrown together.
I can't see myself really biting for either of those two, but maybe some others, even assuming that only repaints are on the table. Purple Soundwave? Galvatron II? Magenta Hot Rod? Red helmed Ratchet? Much more interesting.
It is genuinely weird that half the Shockwave toy isn't included...
TF toys are far too expensive nowadays at this point for random heads glued on a body that doesn't really resemble them. Easy pass.
Don't really care for the rock copter either, wish that neat transformation had been used on a more traditional design.
As expected character wise. To be fair they have done quite a good job of one of my favourite ever designs, but I still am not sure if I really feel the need to own this. A few minor things it does better. But likewise a few things are worse (all the headsculpts are off).
It must also be said...
I think any suggestion that Optimus was off the table for a Haslab was just a working assumption by the team that if they wanted to do an Optimus they'd just put in him the main line rather than Haslab, but I can see how a RID Prime/Magnus back would be unlikely to fit inside retail price points...
We've been told by specialist retailers like Kapow Toys that Hasbro UK are soliciting heavily discounted Nemesis to UK retailers right now for what it's worth.
